Are your knives too pretty? (CHALLENGE)

I see a ton of really great pictures of knives and collections. I have to say though, I'm a tad disappointed in the lack of custom knife user pictures. I would really like to see some photographs of really sexy, (one of a kind, mosaic pin handles, etc..) custom knives getting the $hit kicked out of them in the out of doors. Too many safe Queens these days. So consider this a challenge. Show your beautiful knife that you actually USE:

I do use my knives.

But since they're mostly Fallkniven production knives and you've asked for beautiful custom knife user pics, I can't provide any pics of those :D

On the other hand if your interested in using pics of knives that aren't custom, I can provide plenty of those

Kind regards
Mick

Not quite your knife criteria but they were taking a beating on hard woods.

is that a live tree you're hacking into?

exactly what i was thinking.....

show us how well your knife chops all ya want....but find some dead fall to demonstrate on.....it just isnt cool to half hack away a live tree like that......

What's with the coat hanger in the tree? Is that where you hang your clothes while bathing in that swimming hole? :)

You have no idea of the circumstances. Could be a tree he intends to cut down for other reasons.

If it is on his private property, it is his business regardless.

Geez! Whats next, we have to use the "Graphic" label on live tree pictures?

Okay guys, I am about to post some serious abuse of my JK Heavy Kephart.

Now I dont want anyone to get excited and tell me that this is knife abuse, so here we go.....

Just a reminder dont try this at home....

Okay guys, I am about to post some serious abuse of my JK Heavy Kephart.

I don't think most people would consider John's knives a "beautiful knife". No high polish, no fancy pins,...etc.

However...
custom knives getting the $hit kicked out of them

Please note I don't think John considers the following pics to be normal use.
Nor do I encourage others to pierce metal with their knives.

(Ohh.. and to answer any "why would he do that?" , because I felt like it.And I knew it would take it and ask for more.)

My knives get used all the time. I am odd that when I get home, I clean them, even a little 2000 grit, and they look almost like new when I oil them and put them away.

Thus, you can have pretty pics and have it look like a safe queen.

Also, remember most pics are taken within days of first getting them.

EDIT:

Joe,

Is that a Hello Kitty face on your knife? Is that your makers mark? ;)

I use to think when ever I saw a pretty knife all clean and shiney; that the person didn't use their knives and they were just a collector. (Nothing wrong with that)
But then I started hanging out with Marcelo and Big Mike. They use their knives hard like anyother, but a day later that knife looks pristine. I don't have the discipline nor the patience to clean and polish my knife after use like they do. But don't sleep on the guys who have pretty knives; they are users as well, just better cared for is all....

Continuing with the theme of JK knives getting workouts ...

Chopping and splitting with a 7" JK Hudson Bay, in Algonquin Park:

Testing out a JK Hudson Bay Fire Kit, on Blue Mountain:

Landscaping with a JK Anniversary Knife. The tree was marked to come down, by the way.

Clearing some bent / broken trees along my snowshoe trail with a JK HB;

Fuzz-stickery with a JK Anniversary Knife, also on Blue Mountain:

Fine shaving with a Koster W&SS Forum Knife, just for a change of pace:

And finally, the mark of a well-used custom knife - a nice patina!

All the best,
