Are your knives too pretty? (CHALLENGE)

Nothing really what I called abusive, just using. I have batoned the S-Curve through hardwood quarters to start my BBQ, but didn't take pictures of it. I've given up thinking batoning is hard on a knife. I've done it with kitchen knives without damage.

Well the previous posts prove it. People who buy JK knives use them. Most users are JK knives. :D

I use 'em too and I clean them up after use.

I'm not sure if you'd count this or not, it is a sort of standard model, but I custom ordered it a bit different from standard, and they are both hand made, so. . .

Even though it doesn't look like it, I have beat the hell out of this Black Mamba VecHawk (yes, that means, I blew up concrete blocks with the hammer end and split some very old, seasoned hardwood with it). I also beat up some cement blocks with the hammer and spike end of my customized war hammer:

What's with the coat hanger in the tree? Is that where you hang your clothes while bathing in that swimming hole? :)

That tree was along a canal 10 feet from a newly constructed bike path, The Centenial Trail. Many trees were removed because they were hazards to those that would be using the path. Also in this particular spot, 4 trees were cleared to allow light trailer boats to be launched into the river. The spot was chosen because it was semi-cleared already as its been used as a launch for years before the trail was ever constructed.
The coat hangers were on all 4 trees that were removed but I don't know why. Possible that shore fisherman installed them.

You have no idea of the circumstances. Could be a tree he intends to cut down for other reasons.

If it is on his private property, it is his business regardless.

Geez! Whats next, we have to use the "Graphic" label on live tree pictures?

Carl-

Which is why I asked before responding to the picture....

Here is what I took hunting on Monday (got skunked).

The whole setup is custom double edged wenge/purpleheart hatchet (works much better than I thought it would when I got it), Fiddleback Nessmuk I got for my birthday in lacewood, Damascus Case stockman, and the knnife I made for my wedding in ironwood.

I don't get out much anymore but I don't buy something unless I'll use it.

i don't think most people would consider john's knives a "beautiful knife". No high polish, no fancy pins,...etc.

However...

please note i don't think john considers the following pics to be normal use.
nor do i encourage others to pierce metal with their knives.

(ohh.. And to answer any "why would he do that?" , because i felt like it.and i knew it would take it and ask for more.)

Knice knives so far! I have to say christobal takes the cake thus far:
Incredible knife! Stunning finish AND looks like a real work horse!
No mosaic pins out there getting worked? Really? Such amazing knives around every corner here, and a number of them are in this thread, but I suspect there are at least one or two with some fancy trimmings that are getting the "Treatment". Let's see em.

Went and had a little fun in the woods today, took almost all my fave knives.

Group shot.
