Lovely pics man. Who's leather work is this?

Mine. I'm not nearly as talented as many of the pro's who frequent this place...but I really like how that sheath came out. I made all kinds of attachments for it so I can add a firesteel, carry it in all different ways....

Is that stainless? If so, that spalting is amazing and rare for Andy's stainless pieces.

Hi JD,

Thank you. It is good old O1 tool steel 5/32" thick. The handle is thick or wide as well (which is my preference) so makes for a good user. Thin handles may make for good EDC but are too uncomfortable for my taste.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone got scared of thick handles all of the sudden. That's the number one question I get asked when selling a blade. Not how much has it been used, has it been abused etc. It's "how thick is the handle?"

Bizare isn't it?

I'm gonna agree with this too. So far, all of the FBs I really like are the older models when Andy still made them with handles that would fill your hand. My newer Bushfinger isn't anything like my old one, it's much, much thinner and taller. I hope it's just a fad and all the knives don't stay this way.....

Just picked up an early circa 2011 Fiddleback and I couldn't agree more......the handle fills the hand much better than current production knives the exception being the Bear Paw. Hopefully this will be a call out to Andy & Ken to offer fuller handles on some of the more popular models from time to time so we have options.

I have always loved that one. Thanks for sharing her again.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your comments. I am so sorry I didn't reply earlier. I thought I had but reviewing this thread showed otherwise. Sorry. :)

No harm, no foul. My skin is thick, but I didn't even perceive a slight. Thanks for your consideration, though. And thanks for ALL your wonderful pics (especially the comparison threads) on this forum.
