Who has used ACK for selling higher-end knives and what was you experience? Are there better alternatives for online consignment sales?

While ACK gets a consigned piece “out there” in sight of many potential buyers, they do take a cut of the action, and their payout can take upwards of over a week+.

I always found it easier and more advantageous to just sell on here.
 
As Brian says, try it here first. ACK takes a big cut of the sale price
 
You’re much better off selling here from my experience. ACK takes 25% and the entire process takes a minimum of 4 weeks if your knife sells immediately. I was waiting on knives to sell for 4 months and dropped the price to a ridiculously low level bc they were not selling. I could’ve gotten more here but ACK already had my knives and I didn’t want to mess with them shipping them back to me.

Took the loss and won’t go through ACK again bc of the 25% commission but this is just my personal experience and opinion. On a positive note, ACK was very professional and pleasant to work with overall and I would probably use them again if they charged 10-12%.
 
ACK is good for selling some uber high end stuff. Think $10k+ one off custom, some guy art dealers only know about made it, type stuff. It can be hard to move $10k+ art here on a handshake and PayPal. They move collections of really obscure or niche item well, unless you regularly dwell there. They aren’t the best to flip a Sebenza, per say, and make a killing.
 
I was happy with ACK. However, I would give things a shot here first, if it doesn't sell then send it to them. Sometimes you can get enough more there to cover that 25% they are taking.
 
They are great to deal with, and have insight with values of knives that may not be as popular as some here.
 
AZCK has an international market and I have often sold knives there that are no longer "the knife of the month" here on BF. While 25% seems like a lot, they do great pics, and they take the risks on international shipping. I've been using them for over 15 years without a problem. They are a good alternative for certain knives that may be under appreciated on BF. Another alternative is luvthemknives. Lee takes great pics and only asks for 10% plus a fixed shipping fee. Check out his YouTube channel as well.

Not familiar with luvthemknives, but have used AZCK in the past with no regrets. I think you get better exposure there and you get away from the "I want it for next to nothing" crowd that sometimes pops up here, on Ebay, reddit, or FB.
 
This is more of an amusing observation of Arizona Customs than anything else.

I've never used Arizona Custom Knives to buy or sell, but I have used them to monitor what people are willing to pay for switchblades. And something I've noticed over the past several years that might make it a great place to sell knives is- some of the people who buy there are willing to pay way above retail.

I've seen several instances of people paying more for a pre-owned knife at Arizona that they could have bought brand-new from a retailer, the same exact model, same handle material, same everything. One example of this below-

These are the same exact model (size, handle material, country of origin, etc). Both of these knives were available at the same time at the prices shown. The one at Arizona has obviously been sold, the other listing is from a well-known and well-regarded knife retailer (I won't name them, not a sponsor of this forum). If the person who bought the knife from Arizona had bothered to do a simple Google search for the same knife they could have saved $92.

Apparently there are people who shop at Arizona who have money to burn. Sounds like a great place to sell knives.

I have a mate here who likes "knives and watches". He is a regular buyer from AKC. Not unusual for him to land a $10K plus ($US) blade from them here every few months. The watch dealers at Dubai airport know him well enough that they will put aside a $20k watch for him to collect while transiting with a phone call alone.

I keep telling him that he should be dealing direct with the makers he likes but he is also "ohhhh that is bright and shiny I must have it now".
