I am posting this mainly because not too long ago I posted a good trade
with ArmyMan9 in I-Trader. I have now done another trade with him that
did not turn out so good.
After our first trade he contacted me again for another trade. He wanted
to trade two knives for one of mine. I told him I would make the trade if both
of his were NIB. He said they were & when I got them it was obvious they
were both used, sharpened & one did not have the box. His first answer was
that they were sent to him by another person who told him they were in
great condition. I asked if the knives were sent to me w/o him ever looking at them. He said he should have looked them over before sending to me.
I told him if he wanted to send something else worth X dollars I would not
leave negative feedback. He made an offer of another item which I agreed
to take. He then decided the item wasn't in all that good of condition &
told me to go ahead & leave negative feedback. So that is what I am doing
now.

So, he screwed you over and doesn't care about the negative feedback?
Talk about throwing it back in your face. "I don't care."

sorry to hear.

"You are only as good as your word"

If you say a knife is NIB, it must be NIB. If you say a knife is mint, it Must be mint. If you say you will do something to correct or straighten out a deal, you must do what you say you will do.

If you do not care about negative feedback here on BFC, you are a moron.
Folks here may forget about great trades, but they never forget about bad ones, ever.

Sorry Bob, some guys are just dumb in how they handle themselves here on the forums. If you treat people well, and like knives, its all gonna work out..if you stiff someone, you end up paying premiums for knives the rest of your life...not to smart.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you :( It's really a shame to hear that people can be like that.

armyman9 obviously doesn't reflect the duty-honor-country ethics that are mandatory in the service. Especially rankling to use a screen name that brags on it. So, it shows he may not actually have a clue what it means - which is common for a wannabe gamer.

"I'd rather not make an effort and don't mind negative feedback," usually means the end of using that screen name. Wonder who he'll pop back up as? A change of name usually doesn't have an accompanying change of heart.

This is just my opinion, but anyone who would rather accept negative feedback than correct a bad situation that is their doing should be banned. They do not belong on this site or even in the knife community as a whole.

The mods of GB&U are the ones who have to make the decision and I will back them. The above is just my opinion and not a rule of this forum.

Its not just your opinion. DO IT BABY, DO IT!

We haven't heard from ArmyMan9 as yet. He last posted 07-23-2009. Is he aware of this thread and choosing not to respond?

He was trying to do a trade with me for some of my gear. I was after Maxpedition packs like the Condor II. He told me he had a Condor that he would trade me. Turns out it was a Condor brand name pack and not a maxpedition at all. Far less value and not an equitable trade at all. Glad I got pictures and was able to catch the "Confusion" of the difference between a Maxped Condor II and a Condor brand pack before I traded. Sorry you got burned man. Hate to see that happen.

Cougar, he knew the possibility was fairly high that I was going to leave
negative feedback. He has logged in since I did it & it would be hard to
believe he hasn't checked to see if I did leave neg. Also, I left neg. on I
Trader & I think he would have an automatic PM showing it.

That's terrible news Bob. You've always been a great guy to buy/sell/trade with online and in person at the shows.

It seems that he won over some trust by the first trade and took advantage on the second go around. Thanks for letting us know and I'm sure Karma (and all of us) will bite him in the....can't say it in this part of BF :D

I look forward to the fall show down here in Robstown, I hope you have some emersons with ya then. Take care, J.

I'm sorry this happened to you. You've always been straight up and honest with every deal I've done with you. Thanks for the warning on Armyman9.

An Armyman9 has now posted a knife for sale on KF, don't know if this is the same guy?

that sucks, sorry to hear about the bad trade. I always check to see the feedback before I do a trade or buy. My feedback speaks for itself. I would rather take a hit in the pocket then have negative feedback on here, it would cost me more. My word is worth more then gold. So to all that think that they are gettting away with anything, it's better to pay a bit more from seller then someone with bad or no feedback, trust me. Anyone that's been around long enough knows it too, I'm sure we have all had bad transactions.
Dan
