I'd only swedge it gently for rakish good looks and then round the top of the clip instead of making it sharp. better for batonning and holding that way.

I say go for it. I doubt it's worth a million dollars as a collectible. Clean it up a bit, slap some nice new scales on it and use it! Heck, if you don't wanna mess with with, maybe we can work out some kinda deal...

I may have to talk with you on this. The big difficulty I have with making my own handles slabs is that my tools suck! I need to find a good way to cut blocks down to workable scales. Also, these are going to be ~8" long, so sourcing good stable wood for them might be an issue. At any rate, I'll start cleaning it up and get my ideas down and then decide what I want to do.

so I work out of my garage and most times i have the garage door open, the last 3 to 4 weeks there have been a lot of traffic with people taking pictures of my house or the house next door, I can't really tell, I live in a court so anyways some guy came by with his cell phone up in the air as if recording while driving, I poked my head out of the garage and he put his phone down so quick and took off quick... I hunted him down and asked what the hell he was doing.. he says bro its cool, I ain't the cops... I told him I don't care who you are, why you coming thru recording? all he said was it's cool bro, I ain't the cops.. i said what ever man don't come around here no more...

my buddy shows up a few minutes later I told him what happened, he says that's what they do, they record to scope out the places then they break in...

Tools are the easy part. Sourcing nice figured wood can be more problematic. I always check with a BF member called BurlSource first; Ebay can sometimes be helpful as well.

Just got the ship notice on the packs and bag below. "Regular" (read: defense contractor) price on the three items together was over $1200.

It is a med evac bag. In the interest of not deal spotting, I can only say the vendor rhymes (roughly) with FunBun Fridge Raiding.
ETA: I got the last one though. I was on the phone with the customer service rep, the bags were seemingly sold out, and I asked if any more might list.
She went away for a second and came back with, "My web guy says to refresh your browser NOW and add to cart. We have one left."
All day yesterday and today, I've had my fingers crossed that it would actually ship.

Just got my magpul MOE handguard and vert grip installed on my AR. Now it's totally decked out with MOE furniture. Except I have to take it back off when I order a light mount. That delta ring can be a pain.

Hopefully this weekend I can get started cleaning up those NEF single-shot 12ga's I picked up. Tuesday I'll be making the rounds of all the gun stores again and I'll be dropping off one of them to have the barrel trimmed back to ~18" and have the front bead re-installed. Got a synthetic youth stock coming for that one. Should make a nice compact brush beating gun.
