As requested, Edge Pro Apex sharpening Videos

I will have to try that on the tapes, I always have soap in my water bottle. :D
 
Having owned an edge pro, one tip is to put tape on the sides of the blade. The slurry can really mess up a finish, particulary a nice BB finish.

Another tip that I found, at the very end I would raise the angle just a hair and give a couple LIGHT passes with the polishing tapes on each side. It seemed to really finish the edge up. Maybe it was knocking off any micro burr that was left?? Not sure what it did but the edgepro video said to do it and I did it and it worked:eek:

I do that with the non coated blades. :)

I usually do that once I am all done, like one really light stroke on each side. :D

It's like 21 degress, it's the old Carbon V model, not the new AUS8, it's the only user that I have that wasn't used or sharp.

I'm sorry Ank, i did'nt specify, it would be a Busse Ash I've got. I was wondering what degree bevel the shop typically put on their blades. Thanks,

I have seen anything from 15 per side to around 23 per side.

Lately it's been around 20 degrees.

Thanks, I was showing my wife your video and how sharp your knives are. I told her i wanted to get the edgepro so i could get mine really sharp. She said Oh! but you might cut yourself really bad. Hahaha! She still remembers when i cut my finger bad with a custom hair popping knife. I guess I'm not suppose to have any sharp objects! :D :D

That was at least 20yrs. ago, as for always beening right i still have'nt figured that one out. :) I do know they never forget anything. I'm still going to get one, heck I think I'll order one today. Where the best deal to get one anyway.

I have the Edge Pro Apex with all the Extra's.

I might get the Pro one day though.
