Better build quality and larger stones. The apex does not feel like 200 dollars worth of build construction FYI IMO![]()

Ank, thanks for posting that series of videos man!!
I have the same system, and put a really nice edge on a few of my Striders, your videos make it look easy!!! I quit at 320 grit.![]()
Thanks guys, Ank which one do you have? And i can always add to it can't i. Any advice would be welcomed.
I got the Pro 2 Kit in January, I ordered it directly from EdgePro Inc. Great service.
I had the Apex version in the past which worked fine but the Pro model has a much better base and is more stable and comfortable to use.
The Apex tends to move a little when you sharpen because there are only two suckers on the side which is farter from the user.
The Pro has a suction base which is stronger and placed in the middle of the edgepro.
Also when you have to sharpen the other side of the blade you have to swap your hands and rotate the edge pro. This is easier and more comfortable with the Pro base.
I got my freebie apex 4 today.. No instructions came with it though.
Where do you set the guide? Do I move the stones over the tip of the knife while the tip top half is unsupported or do I make it so the stone never goes across any part of the knife that's not supported by the table? So far, my results are WAY better freehand, but I really don't know what i'm going yet on the EP.
You have to move the knife along the table.
Start with this video, watch it a few times.
