I just love DCBB and SATIN knives. Plain and simple. Nothing wrong with coatings. And if INFI didn't have such good corrosion resistance I'd leave the coating on. However, it's time to get nekkid.

(1) Here are some shots of my ASH-1 with some coating wear. But nothing major.

(2) Next, here is the blade coated with the stripper I used. Not the best but it worked well enough. I still had to do some scraping to get all the coating off.

(3) Here are some shots of the coating gone. NO DIMPLES! :D God this thing is smooth.

(4) Finally here are some shots after the scotch-brite treatment I always use.

Still a little more work to do here and there. This would have been much easier if I had taken the handles off. But I am very pleased with the out come. I'll probably do a little more work but not much because I'm going to beat on it later tonight any way. This be a USER!

TL,
That looks incredible !!!! I'll take it....it'll match my BATAC  :D

Looks Great! The coating underneath including the flats look to be bead blasted with no dimples

Looks unreal...what is the scotchbrite treatment you use? Scotchbrite pads for drills are very difficult to get in Australia (well I havent been able to find them yet but I am sure they are out there). Oh and did you lose the logo?

That looks excellent, Tyrkon.

It will be a few weeks before my ASH-1 gets here...but... I don't think the coating is going to be on for long now that I've seen pics of it stripped.

Good stuff.

The logo is still in tact. Just a little harder to see on the satin as oppossed to the OD coating.

Not one dimple.

I'll try to get better pics in the day light. ;)

Nice job . You may have given me an idea for a weekend project.

Simply Beautiful! Almost as sweet as my stripped CG SFNO.:foot:;):D

I bet it is twice the slicer it was before disrobing!

That looks GREAT!! What kind of scotch-brite treatment do you use? Any suggestions on how to smooth out scratches on a satin finish? I botched up one of my new Cultellus knives.
