Thanks guys. :)

Very cool. I guess I need to pick up a couple of small Combat Masters.

Looks great Tyrkon.

Can someone tell me the width of the ASH1 blade? I know the length is 6.5" I was just curious how wide the blade was. Just trying to get an idea of the size of it before I order one.

Thanks

Another tip is that you can get free replacement lines if you call spec-ops so you can put a larger knife in a smaller sheath . And incase you cut one too short .

Well I got my ASH's today Blk/Blk standard and OD/Blk mag. And I have to say if I wasnt an addict before I am now. These things are MASSIVE. I am truly in love. So I set to work sheathing my OD one in a spec ops per the directions here. Well it didnt really work. Not the way intended anyhow. But I found a solution. Problem was my liner would not hold its shape. Every time I molded it a little then put it back in the water it returned to its original shape. After about an hour of this I gave up. My solution was right in front of my face every day and far easier. I pulled one of my work knives out and used an edge guard. I popped it in the oven at 350 for about 2 min and presto..instant kydex. STill a little tight but should loosen up over time. not sure why I didnt think of this first as I use these everyday for my cutlery but hey better late than never. I also suspect my sheath may be alittle tighter than some. I have more coming from TAD this week so Ill compare when they arrive.Thanx everyone. Here some pics.

Here are the pics

I have had a few people ask about the size of the spec ops sheath I used for my ASH1. As you know from this thread I used the small or is it regular but not the large one. Has anyone else had success doing this with the smaller of the two? Thanks guys. ;)

i just did my large one tonight still trying to fit a liner but not haveing any luck. ham your idea about boiling water worked great but i used a stick to strech my sheath. will post pics once i figure out a liner

I used the boiling water trick but the knife started to cut the liner and after you take the knife out it's almost like the liner shrinks. I ended up cutting the part of the liner that is on the spine side and it fits like a glove. No need for a screw or anything either.
My advice for people trying the water trick would be to:
A. Use a big pot of boiling water.
B. Tape the blade. (which I think may have already been mentioned)
or
C. Use a 5 gallon paint stir stick from your local hardware store.

Are the ASH's not fitting due to how thick they are? Or how wide? I havent gotten my specops yet. I was curious because the LE's are thinner stock and might fit better. Just a thought.

fat guy in a little coat, fat guy in a little coat.

My CG fit just fine after using the boiling water method.

Oh I know I was just curious as too whether the LE's would fit w/o the boiling method, and whether your boiling was to stretch the sheath for width or thickness. i hope that explains it better.

Mine was a heighth issue. I had to heat it up with the boiling water, then quickly push the blade in a little. When it felt like too much resistance I stopped as I didn't want to cut the liner. I did this several times until I finally had the knife all the way in.
