ASH-1 In A SPEC-OPS

Posting my crappy pic. Sorry, not in the mood to bust out the SLR...
Like I said though earlier, no hole (not visible in pic). Maybe I pushed the liner down farther than it came.
I will say, for the price, best tactical sheather around. The pouch has a firestarter (thanks for the post on the ones on sale Guyon), a Leatherman Fuse, and 4 PJ cotton ball straws.

Is this a small or the large? I'm tempted to go this route but wanted to see how the large works out.

That looks like the small to me. I have a pic of my large I can send ya if I can find it.I use the survival models myself though.

This is a small. I'm not sure the large would fit any better but you could probably use the retention screw still. No harm in trying!
Mr. Clean: Awesome job man. Looking good. ;)
Thanks bro!

You got it.
The survivals are a bit more money but you can sure cram some stuff in there!

Great thread and thanks to Tykron and all those who've shared their ideas! I really like the Spec-Op / ASH combo and you guys have enlightened me to take this path! Cheers!

I just ruined the liner. Spent almost an hour heating it and fitting the knife. Finaly it went all the way. I let it cool under cold water. When I tried to take the knife out it cut the liner like paper. It looks very cool and I pushed the knife in only to the grind line so I didn't have to remove the screw, but the liner is cut. I have to call Spec Ops, maybe they will sell a couple of liners separately.

I tried gettin the ASH1 into the small Spec-Ops sheath via the hairdryer method and it was a pain in the rear! While doing so, I never took the ASH1 out fearing that the kydex will not retain shape. Upon getting 1/2 of the ASH1 in, I tried to remove the knife and it was stuck! Finally, I just held the ASH1 handle and in a chopping motion, split the kydex by swingin it onto concrete. I then used a dremel to remove the sharp edges and most of the rounded top half to accomodate the ASH1 spine. I just went to OSH supply and purchased some rubber grommets (couldnt' find nylon and didn't want to use a brass washer) to help widen the bottom end of the kydex after I drill a hole beneath the original eyelet hole (Per Tyson's recommendation and thread). The rest will be very similar to Tyson's thread.
