I am shocked. Due to undisclosed information on their website, I was told by customer service (Ashley) that ii didn't know what I was doing and hung up on! I still can't believe it. Apparantly its my fault that their website asks me which blade I want engraved on a fixsingle blade knife. I took it to mean which side since there is only one blade....worst customer service I ever had in my life.

How did you find BladeForums, and why did you choose to post this here as your first post?

I have had numerous experiences with the vendor mentioned (not a BF supporting deal, by the way) and have been pleased every time.

Did you take steps to work this out with Roger?

best

I have dealt with Ashley and she has been NOTHING short of outstanding, courteous, prompt and polite. Perhaps your attitude could be sensed and you were treated in kind? Not how you want your first post to go down.

Why bring it here? as opposed to calling back and asking to speak calmly and rationally to Ashley's supervisor?

Wow...time to play "Let's attack the Newbie!"!!! I would say that, if he/she was indeed hung up on and hadn't done anything to deserve it, that would certainly be an example of poor customer service. Question is: did he/she do anything to deserve it?

Perhaps it's time for a thread on what newbies may and may not post (that isn't already clearly stated somewhere)...so they can emerge from the experience more unscathed LOL ;) . Who wants to start it? C'mon, help 'em out.

You should introduce yourself first. This kind of first post suggests spam.

So...if he/she had said "Hi, I'm Pat.", then continued with the thread as-was, that would've been ok? Well Hell, that sounds easy. Hey OP...back the truck up and tell us your name ;) !

It's not necessarily a bad thing to view first posts in this section that are one sided, positive or negaive, and somewhat lacking in detail with a certain degree of skepticism. People come with axes to grind or agendas to promote all the time. If calling them out seems an inconvenience to the folks that are legit then I'm okay with it. If they are on the level they should be prepared to defend their statements. I think it's worth it in order to weed out the ones that are bogus and just here for a hit & run.

+1 for Ashley at Knifeworks. She is great and I highly recommend them.

Love the Benchmade and Spyderco limited editions they do.

Ashley has always been nice and professional to me. I've never heard anything but good about her.
If she really hung up on you then you said something you should not have. You need to call her back and apologize.

Since this is your first post how did you know about the Feedback section on Blade Forum ?

I understand how you feel. Most people, in my experience anyway, are just quicker and far more likely to be skeptical and critical (vs supportive or constructive or helpful) when dealing with at least one of two things: #1) a newbie...especially one who is complaining straight-away...and #2) criticism of someone they, themselves, have dealt with and not had any issues. I went through this myself not long ago, actually...wasn't fun. I'd had extremely negative experiences with a certain person selling goods. Those who hadn't just couldn't relate, or believe me, or understand how that was even possible. It all actually happened, though...I wasn't making any of it up or exaggerating. I finally concluded that it was just that none of them were able to experience it as I did. They were empirical about it so I just realized there was no point in talking about it further because it wouldn't make any difference (kind of like right now, actually LOL). Hell, I'm still kinda' waiting for someone to respond to something I've written in this thread and say "Hey! You've only had 24X posts and you've only been around since March...why should we take you seriously ;) ?!?!". Someone please write this so I can label you predictable and you can put the proof in my pudding...please LOL? Just kidding about that last part...kinda. I'm out, guys (and girl(s), if applicable)...enjoy!

Oh, and keoweepirate...IF what some are saying/suggesting about you ends up being true then all I can say is "Stick your head in the sand or don't and good luck...you're gonna' need it!". I might even jump on the bandwagon at that point LOL. Out.
