I am shocked. Due to undisclosed information on their website, I was told by customer service (Ashley) that ii didn't know what I was doing and hung up on! I still can't believe it. Apparantly its my fault that their website asks me which blade I want engraved on a fixsingle blade knife. I took it to mean which side since there is only one blade....worst customer service I ever had in my life.

Tis is about as incomplete and disorganized a story as I've ever read. I've had about 2-3 dozen email and phone calls with Ashley, Christy, and Roger himself over the last 5+ years. Not once were they rude, nasty, or failed to reply. Now, you may have been rude yourself, or said something inappropriate to produce the reaction you got. I'm not saying you definitively did, but it is out of character for any of the ladies or Roger to behave that way. The old saing goes: there are always 3 sides to every story, your side, their side, and the truth.

91a2jettavr6, not bad 6 out of 21 posts so far are yours. If you can't be constructive, please remain in your seat.

A lot of people here like this vendor so you'll likely take some heat for this post. If this went as described then that's poor customer service. That said, maybe calling a specific person out by name, versus just reviewing the company, wasn't a good idea.

I had a problem with them too on my first purchase that was not resolved to my satisfaction. I still have a credit down there for that issue that they'd only apply 'to my next purchase.' It'll likely sit there forever since I'll never do business with them again.

There are a lot of good vendors who participate in this forum and you should support them. BladeHQ is my personal favorite.

What is not a good idea is launching a half hearted thread, with a complete lack of detail. You need to bring facts, details, the whole story, none of this "due to undisclosed details, the vendor is subpar." If a person cannot backup their claims with facts, they end up nuking themselves, it's happened everytime. Personally, I don't have a a cup of lemonade at this picnic, people can critique any store they like, but this is what is called "all hat, no cattle."

You must have been a real asshat to her, I've been working with Knifeworks for 5 years and dealt with Ashley many times, every time she's been a complete asset to the Knifeworks staff and she deserves a raise.

Wow, I've had nothing but stellar service from knife works... Maybe a bad day, maybe a rude customer, not typical from Roger & crew.

Is it just me, or are these sentences, (which seem to be the most important ones in the story,) completely unintelligible?
OP, I have no idea what you're trying to say.

Wow...time to play "Let's attack the Newbie!"!!! I would say that, if he/she was indeed hung up on and hadn't done anything to deserve it, that would certainly be an example of poor customer service. Question is: did he/she do anything to deserve it?

Maybe a post that doesn't read like it was written by a 2nd grader that's been hitting the bong pipe a little too much would help a little?

I've dealt with Ashley and KW numerous times and had nothing but excellent service.

I've dealt with Ashley at KW many times and she does a fantastic job! Talk about polite and helpful. She's provided some of the best customer service I've ever received!

I have a real hard time believing that Ashley would be rude and hang up on someone, unless they were way out of line themselves.

She and KW are the epitome of good customer service!

Thanks everyone for the positive reviews of knifeworks and the good people who work there.
Sounds like a great place to do business, and I shall.
OP, hit and runs don't have much juice, but I'm glad you got to blow off some steam.

I bought my PM2 at the KW booth at Blade Show. I had never done business with them before, and I believe it was Ashley who helped me. She showed me several things before I made my decision and was very patient and informative. I also got to chat with Roger for a bit while she was getting my change and bagging my purchase.

I'd give them an A+ rating for selection and customer service, and will buy from them again.

So anyways, I decided to put knifeworks to the test and placed an online order with them.
After placing the order, I called and spoke to Melissa and asked her to please look over the knives I had ordered prior to shipping. She was very helpful and agreed to my request.

Since I had her on the phone, I asked her about what went down with the OP and Ashley.
Interesting indeed that you would treat not just Ashley, but three very fine people who were trying to help you resolve an issue and give you a full refund on your Izula that YOU screwed up the order on, and then not except just a refund, but demand a replacement knife with free engraving!?!?

And 91a2jettavr6...this might be a predictable response to you, but in this case it applies...read more post less and maybe you wont look like such a noob.

Thanks for posting this. That is exactly the typical service I have received every time I have ever dealt with KW.

They will not hesitate to go out of their way to not only help you in any way they can but make sure you are satisfied.

I've dealt with Ashley many times and she has always been more then helpful. Not to mention courteous and polite. And I can say the exact same thing about everyone there.

Funny how the OP omitted the whole story and how they bent over backwards to try and help him, but he still decided to not only insult three other employees but created an account for no other reason but to try and smear and drag threw the mud by name one of their employees and one of the most outstanding knife dealers I've ever dealt with.

Shameful!

Just wanted to say about my experience with knifeworks. FANTASTIC. Honestly I spent maybe an hour talking with them at bladeshow and have bought more than $1k worth of stuff in the past couple of months. I have never had a problem with them, and they have always been super friendly. That seems like the norm from how this thread is headed.

i've dealt with Ashley via email a couple of times. she's always been very friendly and helpful, and very professional. kw has always been a good dealer for me. surprised op your experience is what it was. maybe a communication failure?

Don't know what transpired, won't speculate, dealt with Ashley though, nothing but positive, will continue to buy from Knifeworks.

And on that note, we will close this down. The one post wonders that pop up once in a while usually are nothing more than pissed off troll threads that try to bash a company. Srry but, since the OP declined to provide the full details of what occurred, we will not speculate and bash what the vast majority consider to be a good and solid vendor.
If you have in fact had a bad dealing with them, then that is truly a shame, most folks seem to do business with them just fine. Bt if you'd like to share details, please feel free to start your own thread, facts are always welcome.
