Shhhhhhh! That was sposta be out little secrete! hehehe I didn't know it was there until a little later when I was looking though that box of paracord... now that was a surprise to find.

Well, since Ashokan has gone by, it's time to choose the winner of Matt's Ashokan Challenge. My vote goes to Gary Graley. Not only did he have a very nice knife, but he had the only Kiridashi I saw there.

Here's a shot of Gary holding one of Sam's blades.

Thanks Chris! I'll take that as an unofficial acceptance :)
and that blade of Sam's just brings the craziness out in a person ;)
makes you want to go and hack things, a lot !

I did redo that wrap, came out better the second time round...

Gary, that was a very nice sheath you made for the kiridashi too. You should post a better picture of it so you can really shame the "dolts" who didn't even make a knife for the contest. Err..., I guess that includes me  :foot:

it was a piratey kinda sheath, felt moved to use this concho on there
since it was for this 'contest' ;)
The special part of this sheath is, there is a curved piece of leather inside where
the thumb rest on the blade is, so, the knife will not pull straight out, the strap
keeps the knife upright and it won't move, you have to pull the knife out at an
angle to clear that section of leather inside, clever I thought :)
