Ashokan challenge sword

Stewart Airport is defiantely the best option and like said right around the corner from the Thruway.

Hope you can make it this year JT, it'd be great to meet you. 'Course it'd be even greater if bubba-doll came along :)

I would be up for picking some people up from the airport, but I have a pickup truck. It CAN technically seat 4, as long as two of those people are kids :D.

Speaking from personal experience, you do NOT want your kids around Sam....Sorry, Sam, the truth will set you free! :D

I really am going to try and save my change and come to this. if i could get this damn cast off i could make some knives.

Oh come on Erik, I gave up buying cigarettes and beer for kids.

Besides, kids love swords!

Well we all have to start somewhere :D And just for the record, we are talking about steel swords (just in case anyone were to get the wrong idea).

AHHHH i know now why you are breaking my chops :D, cause I only have a 1 hour ride to get to Ashokan instead of like 4-6 hours Like you have Erik :D

if i was to fly in would i be able to snag a ride from someone from the air port? any one know of some good deals for plane tickets

So JT you an' Bubba-Doll coming?

Now that the doctor has cleared me for some work (she doesn't know much about forging) I will try to clean up the broadswords I started before surgery in time

Don't push yourself, Page. I am glad you are doing better, and going to be there.

Finished the HT on my sword last night, Togi starts this afternoon.

Page may be the only one of you guys who understands this, but when I do togi for three or four straight hours, my thumbs and fore fingers finally get white again......until Monday ( Its a jewelers thing, you wouldn't understand). I think it is a combination of the constant soaking and the sodium carbonate in the water.
Stacy

Y'know, seeing a Stacy E.Apelt made sword is going to be one of the highlights of my finally making it to Ashokan this year after having missed it for one resaon or another the last 2 years since i got into knife making. I'm not afraid to admit that i'm still far too much of a beginner to tackle a sword... but i'm going to try to make a special kiridashi in time for ashokan!

And Page... take it easy and dont end up re-injuring yourself!

Guys I am really bummed out cause I cant go this year. I am trying to finish a sword though and if it gets done I may send it with Del.

Erik I plan to make something for you to fondle. Del said he would be fine with taking some stuff. What do you want to see?
