Interesting....my wife is from the Philippines and grew up there, and none of her immediate family is terribly interested in knives. Some of her cousins are, though.
My favorite knifemaker is Pinoy - Ray Laconico.
I just call myself Indogermanesian because Indogermanesianerican sounds funny.![]()
Seriously? Isn't that considered a racial slur, by most people? In what state was your birth certificate issued, and if you don't mind the question, when?I'm Filipino and my birth certificate states "mulatto".
San Fran Asians don't count![]()
I think I'm turning Japanese......

When I was in high school, I knew a lot of Korean kids whose parents were immigrants. They didn't, as a group, carry knives in particular, but most of the boys did carry some sort of weapon. Lots of knucks, padlocks, a few knives here and there...
Me, I'm a drunken viking (German/Estonian/Irish), so I usually have a stein of mead and a dagger.![]()
My father was born and raised in Stockton. I don't know if you are a gun nut or if you have gun nut friends but my grandfather (John E. Freeman) made guns and owned a gun shop. He was known as the best gunsmith in in the San Joaquin valley.
Ray is pinoy? No wonder he's awesome.![]()
Man, it is a small world. I left Stockton in the late '70's. The only gun shop I remember was on Main St. but there were a couple other ones as well up on Pacific Ave. I may have known your dad or at least familiar with where he lived. Do you know where your Grandad's shop was?
