Aside from knives, what other outdoor gear do you have too much of?

I feel like "Guns" is going to be a popular one.

yeah, I completely 'forgot' about the gun stuff. On the other hand, and in my defense though, the thread was about having "too much" of a thing. Samael is correct in saying you can't have too many.

Machete's, white gas campstoves, packs to a extent...

You know if we could all get togather next year for the end of the world everyone would have exactly what they need

Bic lighters. I buy the 6 packs, but only use one at a time until it runs out, then I go buy another 6 pack (BTW they are much cheaper that way then in the single pack). So because of this weird habit of mine...I probably have 50 Bics at least. LOL every drawer, shelf, pack and vehicle has Bics in them.

I honestly don't know why I buy new knives...I buy pocket-folders even though I know I'll just EDC my ol' yella Case like I have for the last decade, and I buy hunting sheath-knives when I know I'll only have my trusty Gerber Gator on my belt come Opening Day. I have no real need for more knives...but yet I can't resist them LOL like right at this moment I have a list of about 6 knives I intend to order real soon. *sigh* it's an addiction/compulsion thing I reckon...I done give up fighting it.

As I read this thread I started thinking about my outdoor gear...I tend not to collect many items of the same kind, I have very few packs (and tents and sleeping bags and stoves and so on) and chose them carefully...but if u include bandanas in outdoor gear (for me they are, since I don't remember wearing or carrying one except in my outdoor hikes and camps), then I am guilty too.
There was a time in my life (around 10 years ago) when I used to buy a bandana in every new region or country I visited, and I kept them all. Not sure about the number but I do have at least 20 or 25.....

Tent stakes. Got way too many of those. So darn useful though. I mean sure, I could get by with just four, or even make some, but where is the fun in that?

I use to work for a outdoor supply company and I was the subject matter expert and manager for a while. Because of that i got lots of free stuff, and could buy at cost. Once I went canoeing for 11 days or so in Algonquin Park (upper Canada) - and I outfitted 4 people, sleeping bags (all top of the line of course), tents, backpacks, I think i even got everyone new boots for the trip.

I'm older now - much of this stuff sits idle. I should give it all away to someone but i can't bear to part with it... :(

Flashlights.
Binoculars - not that many but certainly more than I need.
Shavers (rechhargeable battery type) - again, not too many but more than I 'need'.
Boots (work and casual). Nothing fancy, just solid work boots and hiking/walking boots. I swear I have more boots than my wife has shoes.

One day I'll grow up and stop buying toys! Maybe when I hit my next half-century!

Just packs alone:

TNF
Lowe
Camelback
Kifaru
Blackhawk
Eberlestock
Cabelas
Maxpedition
ALICE
Gregory

And some generic, with A TAD Litespeed on the front burner - Insane!

Hats. My wife says I have more hats than Imelda Marcos had shoes. If I ever get stinkin' rich, I'll need a large walk in closet just for my hats.

Packs. Dozens of PACKS. Don't want to carry ém. Need a Caddy or a Sherpa or a Mule. Don't need all these damn packs!
Yeah, OK, Boots Too. Waaaaaaaaaaaaayy tooo many.

I've got extras of a lot of things... but the things I find myself buried in are cheap stuff that I don't want to use. I tend to pick up different versions of things to check them out and see what I like best, then I wind up with a bunch of the stuff that I don't really like or want to use but can't bring myself to throw away. You know... just incase. ><

I have quite a few Sleeping bags, Backpacks and compass's. I buy every compass or sharpening stone I find at a good price.
Whenever I see a good deal, I jump on it....I dont really NEED anything anymore.
The one thing I need, is a really good pair of boots for the fall.

My wife Might be of the opinion that I have too many flashlights and stoves. I know this couldn't be true though.

Like others have said, in looking through my gear I could easily outfit 5 other people and then some :D
