Took a hike today with my girlfriend's dad to the top of House Mountain in Knox County, TN. At the top of the mountain I asked his blessing to ask his daughter to marry me and he gave it.

Here are some pictures of the day:

Ten years from now you may want to climb that mountain again.....to jump off it....just kidding......congrats and many happy years together.....

congratulations! good thing he gave you the blessing, or that would've been the longest hike out ever.

That's really cool brother. I remember when I asked my father-n-law for his blessing... because it wasn't THAT long ago. I come from a pretty traditional family and so does she so I had to go about everything the formal way. Drove all the way to Ohio, sat down with the dad, and we had our little talk. He definitely had some fun at my expense during the conversation and then told me about when he had asked his father-n-law for his blessing. It was a really cool conversation. Well congrats bro. So how you gunna ask the future wife? Oh, and cool pics too by the way.

Hell, where are the pics of the woman!

+1 haha.

Shoot mine was lame.. I called my future father n law while he was on the road from Houston back to Dallas and said "Hey, mind if I come over and talk with you tonight". Seeing as how this was the first time I'd EVER called him on his cell phone.. it was pretty obvious what I was about to do. He said yes none the less anyways... :)

My father in law asked me "are you sure you want to do that?", I didn't realize then what he meant, now its too late ( :( )

I knocked my girl up before I asked her to marry me did it on her first mothers day. If I would have asked her dad on a mountain he would have pushed me off. Wish it could have done it right but wouldn't trade my son for the world...but maybe a RC 10...Jeff do you guys take first born? :) just kidding...but do you?

HA! I can relate. I love my daughter, but she is 22 going on 8. Her mother threw her out and she didn't make it a week before she went crawling back home, because I made her look for a job. I really like her boyfriend...reminds of me at his age, career moving forward, i want to tell him to run like hell because my daughter is turning into my ex...which extrapolates to my daughter will be making his life hell for twenty years!!! I am also smart enough to know that he won't listen...because I didn't listen.

Good luck on your engagement. I think it is really cool that you hike with your father in law.

Roar-K Congrats!!! He could have thrown you off it LOL Joking Best wishes! Hear is a Hand Shake too!
