I like quick opening, but I don't like to have to overcome spring tension when closing.
My preferred opening system is a smooth flipper like the RAM. It opens AND closes quickly and effortlessly.
I agree about the spring tension upon closing. I've actually had my finger
slip off the blade upon closing a couple of times and that can become a
bit scary when you lose control of the blade like that.
I enjoy carrying the stainless shallot but it's one knife I'm so tempted to
remove the torsion bar in.
