Associates Degree in Sobriety

very positive story...good for you
very inspirational

I never drank much, first drink was at 25, and seldom after that, except for a 1 year binge after some personal tribulations
been 20+ years now, and I bet I've had less than 50 drinks since then...maybe one at Christmas or my anniversary, just lost the tatse for it...and better off for it...not to mention the $$$ it saved :D

I turned 50 last year, and figured half a century of alcohol was enough so I gave that up. Perhaps at 100 I'll give up chasing pretty girls. I'm still thinking hard about that last one.

Congratulations, Mike!! Sobriety is a gift so few receive, and manage to keep. May your road to destiny be a happy, level one.

BTTT.

Tempus fugit; "time flies."

Do they have a Master's Degree in Sobriety? Today it's six years.

Thanks to all of you; new and old Good Guys, who have provided inspiration and strength, by being a peer group I value greatly.

The greatest battles are fought within, but no one fights alone. I appreciate the help, then and now, for helping me stand straight.

Mike

"Tempus fugit" "Time flies." Yes it sure does Mike as it sure doesn't seem like it's been near this much time since you first posted about this but I have little doubt you've felt every minute of it at certain times!!!

My heartfelt congratulations on your six years of sobriety and may you continue to find the strength to continue your life sober easier and easier with each passing day, week, month, year, and decade for the rest of your allotted days and of them may there be many!!! :D

congratulations to everyone here enjoying long terms of sobriety / Ad Astra; STR ; wildmike; daddydet; stainless; and anyone else that i left out- it is really great to find out that there are others on the forum that are sober .

i never thought to bring the subject up here but it is great to see all the supportive comments - i got clean and sober October/ third / 92

also have not been in a fist fight or handcuffs since then - i think there might be a correlation.

i am allergic to alcohol - it makes me break out -- doors, windows and teeth

Hey Congratulations Mike!
I'm not a regular here in the Cantina, so I don't know you from Adam........... But then again, we've met a hundred times or more if you're a freind of Bill. I've got a little over four years of Sobriety now and I never regret that I decided enough was enough. Now the real big key is to remember how easy it is to go back. You know that Hurricane that took away your house and all you owned?? Well it's still going on, right outside your door. One wrong step and you could be right back in the middle of it. Hang on to what you've learned and the relationships you've gotten back. They're worth more than anything else. And like you said, now you've got some spending cash for a few really cool toys.
Good Luck Man!!
Kevin
