Thanks man. Always good to get out. I should have went for a local hike myself, but it was getting a bit too hot for my fat old butt.

Getting tired of my photos yet, haha?

River valley view. Sure was a pretty day out:

Pocket bellows doesn't sound very woodsy. A fire straw sounds like something you could blow flames out of! lol
Haha, I like the name. A bellows that fits in your pocket. Maybe not woodsy, but gets the point across.

It looks like my back scratcher without the backscratcher part on it! I'll have to see if it will work...
I should make an attachment to fit the end for a back scratcher. That's good thinkin' right there...

All kidding aside, the Pocket Bellows kicks butt. Really nice piece of kit. The first time I used one was to get me Emberlit going. Did I need it for that? Not really, but it sure did make the process faster. I bought a second one I keep at the cabin.

I keep my original bellows in a fire kit I have. I keep the items in a tin, I got a portable amplifier in.

Bigger than a standard tin:

I keep cedar shavings in a Coke tin I found when cleaning the old factory out:

Okay guys, I promise these are the last ones, haha. I do have in the area of 500+ more I could post. :D

Hey Warrior.... you

I love your posts and you have outdone yourself with this one...... You managed to get that wonderful, bright, just washed look that vegetation gets after a storm.....I loved the knife and food shots and those lovely pix of flying chips are superb..... I could damn near smell the baCon and taste the scones....YUMMY...... It is a joy to see you enjoy your cabin and, of course, it warms my heart to see you enjoy my blades.....Thank You for sharing your enjoyment with me..... I reallappreciate it...

All Best.....

Ethan

Thanks Ethan, appreciate it. There's a lot of work right there. Probably the last time I'll do one that long, haha.

Love using the Becker blades. No nonsense, no bullshit, no frills, just get the job done kind of blades...my favorite kind.

Just going to use this thread, since not much happened at the cabin this past weekend. This is also my first go at using Imgur, which, imo, sucks, haha. Anywhos, I got a wedge I've been dying to use, to split some stuff that laughed at my hand splitter.

Starting it in:

Drove it in some. Not sure what this wood is, but it's tough:

Getting there. You can see my miss, haha:

Success. No wonder it's so tough:

The next morning I split the rest. It was some hard work, let me tell ya. BK9 added because, well, it's a BK9:

Getting the wife's morning java ready, and found this in the stove. A little tree frog:

I put him on the ground. Beautiful frog. You can tell he would be well camouflaged on the right tree bark:

It was hot out Saturday. 94°, but the humidity, unusually, was only at 39%. The wife and I decided to dig on my turn around. Been a long, drawn out process over the months, but, it's getting there. Unfortunately, the summer is about the only time it's dry enough to dig. What it looked like before we started:

After Saturday:

Digging back about 6 inches, all across the face, yielded about 10 wheelbarrow loads:

...all came from that same dig. A lot of work, removing rocks, roots, etc, otherwise, we would have been done a long time ago.

The 10 wheelbarrows full of dirt/rocks, I used to do a little land filling. You can see the new. I added some rocks to help it from washing away during the first few rains:

Extended it back a few feet:

Looking behind it, you can see where I'll eventually fill it all the way across:

I drug a log, and filled in the gaps with tree branches, and rocks, for a stop:
