At what point does brand love go overboard ?

At what point does brand love go overboard?

At the point that: 1. the person starts getting completely obnoxious and close-minded, even to most of those who have the same favorite brand! 2. the person starts spending far more time criticizing other brands quality, QC, fit, finish, price, etc. than they do talking about the good qualities of the brand they are in love with.

This question is no different from the Gun World question, example Glock vs H&K.

Everyone I’m sure has a Favorite Knife brand, but it’s still always good to try as many others as you can.. H&K USP’s are my favorite Pustols, but didn’t stop me from getting Glocks, Ruger’s, 1911’s, Smith & Wesson, etc.

Personally, I’m looking to purchase some SpyderCo’s, Boker, Buck, Zero Tolerance, and others in the future as right now I mostly have Cold Steels, Kershaw’s and a couple SOG’s.

For myself, the 3 brands I've settled on using and carrying are:
Victorinox
Spyderco
CRK

I own multiple knives each from numerous brands: Benchmade, Cold Steel, Schrade(old US-made), Camillus, Case, Buck, Wenger, David Boye, Kershaw & ZT, Emerson, Ka-Bar, SOG, Leatherman, CRKT, Colonial, and others. This is over many, many years of being into knives. It's only natural to focus in on your favorite(s). I don't 'need' to focus on 'everything' anymore, especially since I rarely buy knives anymore. I do occasionally pull out one of my 'other brands' and use them for whatever and however long I choose. I allow myself that freedom, and acknowledge others having the freedom of their preferences.

When no matter what some one asks suggestions for the answer is tri ad lock.
That’s because “Triad Lock” is literally the correct answer to everything.

Q) What year was Napoleon defeated at Waterloo?

A) Triad Lock

Q) How many light years away is the nearest star system to our own?

A) Triad Lock

Q) How can peace be achieved in the Middle East?

A) Triad Lock.

It simply works for everything.

I have 5 knives with triad locks and they haven’t failed me ever. Great lock.

Neither have I had a failure on my locks from Spyderco, Benchmade, ZT, Fox, Steel Will, Kershaw, Buck.....

I love variety. Why be a fanboy/girl of one brand when there are so many great knifes being made these days?

In the context of no knife being perfect ...

When you respond to comments regarding shortcomings in fit, finish, customer service policies and, generally, value with, "that's because you do not understand" or " You don't know nuthin' " or "if you were a real tactical tough guy you would 'get it.' "

I own knives from many makers, none are perfect and things could be different or better on all of them - even my Emerson, CRK and Cold Steel knives. ;)

Are you worried about those serrations breaking when you use it? I always stayed away from CS serrations for that reason, and the fact that they aren't spyderco h1.
I have a Recon 1 serrated and they small serrations are surprisingly strong. I was surprised.

There’s also a little sharpener Made specifically for the CS serrations available for around $8 that helps keep the teeth nice and sharp.

I much prefer Spyderco serrations though.

The milestone is reached when your love of a brand or model is so intense that you do not leave room for other people to like anything else. When anyone who does not love that same brand or model is automatically a fool.
Knife politics.

Although only few times, I've met fans so hardcore that any opinions or criticism on knives they love have been met with downright hostility. I think it's more of a thing of issue on personality rather than someone being a fan of specific company. I think that the saying "it's not anything away from you" is a good philosophy when someone doesn't like your favorite knife and or company.

My two favorite knives are the Cold Steel Trail Master and Buck 110. Buck and Cold Steel also happen to be among my favorite knife companies. But it doesn't cost me anything if people like other brands or knives, so it's all good.

I'd say so. Some types are prone to slant, fib, falsify to the point of serious aggression in the name of their home team, the issue being when does friendly rivalry turn into dirty pool. For example I myself can't stand the Spyderco aesthetic, the way they look and will probably never get one but if I or anyone speaks negative of Spyderco around here woe is them. So yes, it comes down to character. Over the top fanboys are kinda like that guy revving his motorcycle at a stoplight, the people in the immediate vicinity would like it if he would shut the F up but around his buddies he is "normal".
