I am always cutting knife handle wood so this will be an ongoing thing as long as it does not become a PITA. The wood I send is not my best but still nice stuff.

The only way I keep track and send the wood is when I receive the paypal for shipping. This automates the shipping and the notes section enables me to know blocks or scales. US shipping is $5, Canada $10.

In the notes section be sure to include your user name and if you want blocks or scales.

It is up to you to determine if you are a beginner or not.
 
Just got mine today - looks like a nice selection.

It's nice to have wood worth working without worrying that I'll wreck really nice burl in the process.

Investing in beginners like this seems like a win-win situation!

Could you tell me what the woods are, if it's not too much trouble. One is labeled 'curly maple' but what are the other two?

I am on the work computer right now, but when I get home I will be sending an e-check your way, that way if the weekly give-a-way thing starts up I have something to enter. Dang this knife making thing is addictive:p

Sorry, I should have labeled them.
1st is Claro Walnut, 2nd English Walnut, 3rd Mineralized Curly Maple.

Hey, I got my scales the other day too. I have worked with myrtlewood in the past. Remarkeable stuff, and the scales you sent have some curl in them. They'll look great finished. Thank you for the walnut too. A little white in the dark wood with mine, and I appreciate that. Anything unique is good.

I recieved my blocks today. Thanks, Mark! You too, Anti-Torsion! These are going to make some nice handles.
 
I just got my scales today. Really nice wood! However I forgot to put block or scales in the paypal, and since my knife is a stick tang I needed blocks. Would it be possible to pay another $5 for a set of blocks?

We can do it again no problem. Be sure to put blocks in the notes section with paypal. That is the only thing I look at when sending the pieces of beginner wood. I am running a little slow right now because I am reworking my webstore. I will send wood when there are about 8 batches or so ready to ship. It should never take me over a week and they go priority mail so once I ship, they will get there within a couple days. Thanks for your patience.

If anyone gets wood that I forget to Identify, post or pm a photo and I will tell you what it is.

I am sorting through the wood for my webstore and decided only to list the real good stuff. So I will have a lot left over to share. Now somebody make a knife and post photos, OK?
 
OMG this is incredible generosity. I would like some scales if possible. I don't have a bandsaw :(
