Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

Methinks this is one Chalupa that really needs to get dropped. No joke...unless you've ordered an MD in which case definately drop Earl a line. He's never been accused of dishonesty with a customer, he handled my MD order in an honest fashion over a year ago and at one point showed willingness to switch the order to a CR or Dozier before coming up with the MD model I wanted from another dealer.

I had an order for a Shrike with Earl, when I saw this post this morning I called Earl and left my number. Earl promptly called me back, and we arranged for my refund. I've done a fair amount of deals with Earl, and I've never been disappointed.

Earl has his reasons for what he's doing, but he's not going to come on here and explain them, he's too much of a gentleman for that. If you have a deposit with Earl for a Mad Dog, call him, you'll be taken care of.

Earl has been through enough, so please do not ask him to go into details about a subject which is obviously not our business.

Also please do not travel to Mad Dog's new forums asking the same.

Thanks...

Earl has done an excellent job of arranging for me to find a way to get my knife before I leave for military. I have a Shrike on order as a military priority. After talking to both Earl and Kevin, I will be getting my knife by the end of the month.
Thanks to Earl for all of your cooperation and thanks to Teryl and Kevin for arranging to get me my knife...

warning: this is not a flame. I am here to learn and seek out knowledge and truth. wheather I will find it or not is debatable...

The questions on business matters have all been answered; Earl's refunding all deposits and nobody's losing their place in line either; St. Teryl has posted that the people who were on Earl's waiting list are going to get their knives directly from MDK.

As a personal question, though ... a lot of us feel we know you through the net, Earl ... we feel we're friends even though we've never met irl.... Are you going to get out of the knife dealing business entirely, or just stop handling Mad Dogs? Most of all, are you doing okay?

Cougar,

Thanks for expressing what some of us are thinking but afraid to ask.

By no means do I wish to add fuel to any flames, but wasn't it a bit harsh for the "other" forum to post Earl's personal phone numbers (see above link)?

Hi Earl . . . Welcome to the Forum. Methinks you could contribute a fair amount of lore to the ongoing discussions.

Can Mad Dog get any lower? What a POS! I don't know what happened, but hell, why post all of his personal info. I'd be calling my attourney if I were him. Who in their right mind would carry MD's knives after all this? -AR

Earl, be safe! I have always been treated right by you. Do stop in and say hi to us.

I've dealt with Earl before. I changed my order at the last minute (from a Mad Dog to a Chris Reeve right after the Cliff Stamp TUSK incident) which was also the time Earl began going through his difficulties.

Earl was very patient with me and although he did take a while to respond to my requests, it was only because he had a lot of other things on his mind. He took care of me very well.

Bottom line; Earl is a good guy. I'm sure he'll take care of his former customers. If you're reading this thread Earl, I wish you well in your new career and I'm very sorry that you and your family have to go through this time of trial during the holidays.

On a happier note, has anybody noticed the unsold MD's on the for sale forum? Seems that they just scroll right on down the screen.

When are people gonna learn? The guy is as low as low goes. Any honest business practice that ever happens with his business is purely accidental. And the missus is just precious. As if she has a clue.

Not talking about Earl-he has a good rep.
