August 2014 Weights and Fitness Thread

This workout total is fun, because it's the total number of points I got from doing one set of dips and one set of pull-ups at the end of my shifts five nights in a week.

light (all dips) - 85 = .85
medium (all pull-ups) - 60 = 1.2

Current BSPs: 30.62

Whew! I've burned through all the month's workouts. It feels good to be caught up and back to posting, I really like tracking my workouts and accompanying intensity level here on BF, and having a group of guys - even if it's just one or two - helps me stay consistent.

My last updated workout is the week's worth of pull-ups and dips. Sadly, I was sick the first half of the week, so my totals fell. However, I'm getting stronger at both exercises and can consistently do 20 good dips in a set and at least 12 good pull-ups in a set. My goal is 30 dips and 20 pull-ups, and I'm confident I'll reach those goals, as long as I stay healthy and exercise intelligently.

light - 62 = .62
medium - 38 = .76

Current BSPs: 45.69

I kinda stopped updating my workouts. I've been putting in about 2-4 hours a day, and like Qeth, it's gotten kinda challenging to track all of the heavy bag and body weight exercises I've been doing. I took it that the point of this was to motivate us to workout, and I'm getting a pretty substantial amount of exercise these days.

I can see how tracking two to four daily hours of exercise would be distracting and difficult! Selfishly though I can say it's sad to see another regular poster fall silent.

I stopped lifting and started doing a lot of walking and riding this month.. I miss the weights but I am losing weight and inches again. Got some reps on the bench this morning anyway... felt good :)

Ironically Lee, I've had the opposite experience this month: I've had shin splints so had to back off my cardio, so I've been hitting the weights more. Ahh, irony! I would've liked to be hitting the roads and trails during the summer, but I reckon the fall time will be even better! Enjoy your size loss and cruisin', and hopefully we'll see you more here in the near future

I hope so! It's getting awfully lonely in here...

Verily, and with a vengeance :D I've internally committed to posting here and in MYB (when my doggone shin splints go away!) for this entire calendar year, so I can then assess my needs and strengths. Plus, I enjoy this community - Bladeforums, the Becker sub-community, and our exercise groups. It's a triple-win
