Automated Membership system now live - Rates, etc.

When you get switched to the new system, it will be listed under User CP > Paid Subscriptions, until everyone is switched over, it's a mixture. If you were signed up under the old system, check there.
 
We no longer accept credit cards from non-US customers
All non United States orders must be pre-paid with money order or wire transfer.

I should have read the fine print.

I guess you guys have your reasons for not offering this.

I do not need to know them.

Registered user is fine with me.

I signed up for Gold membership today 9/20, last name Medise, last 4 cc#4586 this is the error I received:

"An error occurred while trying to report this transaction to the Merchant. An e-mail has been sent to the merchant informing them of the error. The following is the result of the attempt to charge your credit card.

This transaction has been approved.

It is advisable for you to contact the merchant to verify that you will receive the product or service"

After I got this message, I went back and filled in the Customer Billing Information and it still returned the same error message.

I tried it again after my Gold membership ran out and it worked fine. My User CP page now lists the current membership and dates correctly.
 
well... I logged back on this afternoon... and couldn't find Prate's Cove!!! AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!
So, I figured out my Gold finally ended... a month after it's expiration date!!!!
(I guess that makes me kinda lucky, too?)
Well, I tried your automated renewal system and I'm back to Gold again!!! YEEEHAWWWW!

But, my user Cp says my expiration date is still a month ago! I take it that this will sort itself out automatically in the next day or so?

Anyhow - I also want to thank you, Spark, for maintaining an awesome site... trolls excepted, of course... but sometimes they do provide a little comic relief!

(PS: well, I did see one place where it now says 10/25/04 for renewal date and good thru 10/25/05... so I take it the system works!!!!) Thanks!

Hi Guys

Just a little frustrated. Forgive me if it comes across in the tone. I wanted to register with a knifemaker membership - so I just clicked at the top of the screen - where it says " Upgrade your forums experience, and help support this site. " It takes me to the authorizenet site - asks me for my C/C and contact info. It doesn't say international users can't use it. As a matter of fact, it asks me to enter my state/province and zip/postal code. Of course, it comes up with an AVS error. Although it didn't accept my membership, it did pre-auth my C/C account so my money is gone - at least for now.

Now, I start drilling down through help forums to find the problem and find this thread.

Summary

  • Your "Upgrade your forums experience, and help support this site. " link needs a disclaimer that it won't work outside the USA
  • Why does Authorize.net pre-auth my account if it is refusing my payment?
  • Can I just send you and extra $10 or something to fix it manually? PayPal maybe?
Just trying to do the right thing her. Please help.

I just renewed my gold membership with the new system and it worked great. I have one question my last renewal way via the old system and I wasn't sure of the date so I went ahead and renewed today 2/20/05 to be sure the membership didn't lapse now the info at the top of the paid membership page shows my membership as starting today as opposed to showing the membership being extended from the orignial date. I wondering if I just happened to hit my renewal date exactly or is there a disconnect between the old and new system?
 
You must have hit it exactly... because we switched everyone over to the new system and it extends your membership.
 
Quick question:
I am currently a GOLD member. I would like to upgrade to Knifemaker status. Will I be charged the FULL $40 again, or can I pay the difference?

How long does the automatic activation take?

I re-upped my knifemaker subscription on 4/11/05 and it hasn't showed up yet.
 
4/15/05 my renewal has still not shown up. I used the same card as last year and the year before.

Do I need to redo it?
 
Automatic feature is instantly. If you are having a problem, I need your transaction ID from your charge.
