Yup. Some hides have branding scars, range scars and even parasite scaring. I like hides with character and try to accent those 'character marks' when I find a suitable one for use. I usually use high end European hides - super nice quality/pristine and rarely have scaring. So when I have time, I search through stacks of Oakleaf hides til I find one of suitable quality that has some cool scaring or wrinkles. Benefits of having a Tandy Leather Wholesale warehouse 20 min from me - ability to hand pick my own hides.

That is awesome. I for one would love to see some hides on Tuesdays with branding scars. I'm a charactar kind of guy!!
