In other news... Happy Thirstday!

We haven't been watching much TV and I'm not familiar with the shows y'all are gushing about. But I did watch "The Wolf of Wall Street" for the second time last night, and I enthusiastically recommend it. Freakin' hilarious, thought-provoking and extremely well-done. Best thing Scorsese has made in many years... think "GoodFellas", only funnier. :thumbup: (not for kids though... definitely not for kids)
 
I have had 2 people in the last 2 days agree to buy my tomahawk then back out. The last guy I answered A bunch of questions yesterday, made him a video, he agreed to buy it, took my address then emails back today something about finding an email in his spam folder saying a custom knife he ordered is ready so he must back out on our deal.

Yesterday sucked and today is not starting any better.Is it too early to start drinking?:D Maybe I can be back in bed by noon.

Nothing personal buddy, your a good kid but I don't think its legal to sell these to minors. And the thought of you hurting yourself with this thing would bother me. I guess...if you could convince your parents to let you have it...and your dad is willing to call me on the phone..I would consider selling it to him....still makes me nervous.

Naw, that's okay, Just one more thing my parents have will worry about. And besides I don't really have the dough, I'm hopping to get a Sidekick from James.... Beautiful work on the hawk, though! :thumbup:
 
Been fishing since 8am. Have caught 1 little perch. My sonar said there were hundreds more under me, but I'll be damned if I could get them to bite. They were really interested, but just wouldn't take the bait. Picky little bastids. I just came into town for lunch and different bait and am headed back to where they are. Wish me luck!!
 
one thing i hate is when i get an email from someone they show me a picture a sheath from another maker and they ask if I could make one just like it... I say no get it from them... there is a post on facebook of a leather sheath and they are asking if someone could make one identical to it

Those folks are either looking for a similar design, except with better quality... or floundering around for a cheap version.

In the first case, I say heck yeah! but it's gonna cost ya...

In the second case, I just ignore 'em.
 
Im not a knife maker, steel expert, or professional reviewer... But i get emails or PMs a few times a month asking me what i think of a certain knife or a certain steel, or asking me which i think is better, or to compare certain knives... I dont mind the questions at all, I love them actually, but one thing i cant stand is when someone i have never talked to sends me a question needing a detailed answer and i spend 30+ minutes writing a reply thats a couple paragraphs long and they never even bother to write back.... They get the info they wanted and thats that, no time for even a "thanks"

So i can imagine the BS knife and sheath makers go through, Id hate to get multiple messages a day from people never really planning on spending any money. If i was a maker id prolly setup a webpage and require a 5 dollar deposit to answer messages LMAO... I might not ever get a request for a quote, but id also never get an idiot wasting my time for free...

And sometimes im the idiot LMAO to this i apologize. That why when James wrote the post about my messages i thought it was hilarious, but I understand exactly where he is coming from.
 
Just had a router bit bearing spit its guts out....thus ruining my carefully planned drill press sanding table. Last thing I had to do was rout the top that is already glued on for the inserts that were already made....now I'm going to have to buy another bit and make a whole bunch more inserts...think I'll just make one this time and see how the new router bit works out first...I'd be tearing my hair out if I wasn't already bald.

Speaking of bald.... My hairline is started to go backwards.... I just hit 30.... Im hoping my hair makes it till 40 LMAO

Nope. Its all down hill from here man. If I was you I would start brushing and using conditioner on your butt hair now so its nice and soft when it comes time for the transplant. :D

This is the way I look at it, I may not be "a looker" however I know how to dress. I'm single because I'm an asshole (if you could imagine that!) and I expect who(m?)ever I'm with to be at least on my level of ability to get dressed.
