I'm really not a fast paced person, and certainly not clumsy or forgetful. Usually I don't ever show anyone my knives, but the guys at the range and I had struck up a bit of a relationship and liked talking knives. There aren't too many folks who even know what a decent knife is around in your daily life, so it was kind of neat to have a few people that I see when I go shooting to share my passion with. I just didn't want you thinking that I carry a knife so I can show others because it couldn't be further from the truth. The Sebenza was bought to fulfill my own desires and for nothing else. As I mentioned, it was just kind of cool to have a few guys to chat knives with in person and not just thru a computer. I had carried the knife a few other times as well and the one thing I was really impressed with was the pocket clip and it's retention. So I'm not only upset, but also surprised that it was lifted from my pocket. I have other knives with clips that are more slick and have less retention and I've never even had them slide out of my pocket on the couch. So whatever the knife hooked on was strong enough to really yank it out of the pocket and I would've thought that I would've felt that.
For good measure I've retraced my steps again this morning, looked in the car again "for the 10th time", and even went back over to the gas station to see if anything turned up and couldn't help but take another walk around the pumps to see if it was miraculously laying there looking up at me. Nothing has turned up though. It's not the end of the world but yeah it sucks. I'll just start putting away a little at a time and start the process over again. Granted my Sebenza was my most expensive but I really had my knives down to a few that I really like so I don't want to sell any of those off to fund another purchase so I'm just going to sit tight and hopefully time will pass quickly and I'll end up getting another Sebenza and having a story to tell.
Thanks again to all those here with kind words and fingers crossed.
