Bear, M3mphis may disagree, but I'm glad to know there is hope for you. I love axes, but find a monogamist relationship with them is impossible. I love almost all edged tools and can not get away from the sexy lines of hawks. So many sharp things to love and so little time.

Here's a few. Most of these have been posted before but it will keep the thread at the top until hopefully the Mods make it a sticky. :D

Regards

Robin

This is a 3 1/2 pound Swedish Banko I grabbed for 10 bucks in a local junk shop. Nice original handle and a great cutter.

Now, Fellas, I don't have anything against hawks! I simply think they are vastly inferior to hatchets for three very objective reasons:
1. I don't have any hawks.
2. I suck at throwing them.
3. Have you looked at the hawks that guys on here are making??? What if I got into hawks? I'd be royally screwed, that's what. For me, it's better they remain art to viewed and not touched.
:D
I've been thinking about getting one to try out for quite a while now. I just have a hard time sending a single dime to cold steel (sorry, just how I feel about it, not trying to poke the bear). What's a good and cheap substitute?

For a little more money vs. Cold Steel, check out Fort Turner. 100% hand forged, the old way, you know with an anvil and hammer:D

Robin, stunning work as always, wow. That Banko always make me envious!

Kentucky, that hatchet is spot on. Phenomenal work.

thrillbilly, that is probably the best looking Becker I've ever seen!
