Axe, Tomahawk & Hatchet Photo Thread

My new fav:

It's a GB Outdoor Axe. Some side by side shots with their mini hatchet and a Husqvarna hatchet:

The Husqvarna is twice as heavy but the Outdoors Axe outperforms it anyway.

It'll also replace this one as my camp knife at just 2 ounce more including sheaths:

I've got one of these too — great little piece of kit. Super handy for kindling processing and light splitting around a campsite, and actually pretty decent for food prep too!

Cool, you don't see 'm very often. It's been available for 6 years now but I didn't even know it existed until a few months ago!

I haven't tried it for food prep but I did peel a couple of pounds of potatoes with the mini hatchet once :)

I have to admit.........I come across old dead axes, and hatchets almost daily. I'm in the garbage business, and regularly see broken handled axes and hatchets in the transfer station pile almost every day. I really should pick these up.
Question. If I pick up, and save these old heads do you guys want them? Would you guys want to clean them up, sharpen, and re handle them? Give these old heads new life? It seems a shame for these old tools to be just thrown out. You can have them for free. I want these old tools to live again. Tomorrow I will start to keep an eye out, and I will post my findings in this thread.

I would absolutely appreciate if you could send one or two old hatchet or small axe heads my way! I've been trying to get to some garage sales to find some for myself but for some reason can never seem to find any.

Done. I'll see what I can do.

I tried to do a octagonal on my Husky handle today, it came out all right. It's a little bit off but feels good in my hands!

It's better than what House Handle sells you as 'octagonalized' and I'm sure that feels better in the hand.

Waited nearly a year to get her and it was truly worth the wait!
