Rise AU, I deal with Ferrous Oxide (iron II) that is a + ion when dissolved in water, and can be removed with a water softener. Ferric Oxide (iron III) will damage a softner, and has to be removed using a filter.
 
Made something for a birthday gift. It is made based on his personal requests.

This is how I purchased the bit on ebay

I took it to my angle grinder, belt sander and also forged out the eye to be more round. (The recipient wanted a round handle)

Made a handle by sandwiching with epoxy three pieces of the straightest grain hickory I could find inorder to get a blank wide enough for a fully round handle. Epoxied on a steel miss-strike protector and made a kydex cover
