Axe, Tomahawk & Hatchet Photo Thread

Did this thang a while back, It played well, but very unbalanced. A novelty at best. You might get one good swing before it shatters.

Double bit “Nashville” axe, one played a small part in the movie Deliverance.😉

Comparing the 2015 JW to the CRKT MJ. CRKT top edge very sharp, this was not in the original RMJ design for this hawk pattern, it was a dull edge made for gliding thru a cut and decreasing any possible drag/friction, not making a cut itself. The MJ is well made, grinds are nice, removing from kydex takes both arms and some real force applied. The JW removal is one hand easy peasy smooth as butter yet retains the hawk quite well. The MJ is a nice option at $95 vs the RMJ MJ listed elsewhere for $420+ today.IMG_8519.jpegIMG_8520.jpegIMG_8522.jpegIMG_8523.jpegIMG_8517.jpeg

Mick, how do you like the Pathfinder compared to the Jenny and Winkler Wild Bill? I have those two but the Pathfinder looks like it is a good solid tool option with the long edge.

I like the Pathfinder the most, it’s like 6oz more weight than the JW and same length. WWB is tactical and the Pathfinder is tactical/practical in that it can do camp chores and serious self defense if needed. Buy a Pathfinder and you won’t regret it. Last hawk I would ever sell. I also thrown a CRKT Rune aka 2017 Little Bird RMJ clone. It’s spot on for weight and length to the pathfinder, so a good practice thrower to get the Pathfinder sighted in without throwing it. The Rune throws like a champ. So I expect the Pathfinder will too if needed.IMG_8786.jpeg

Obviously not used it yet but this feels really nice in the hand with the Monkey Edge Frag grips. Feels like a little hatchet capable of doing just about anything. Thanks for steering me in the right direction Mick 💪🏻IMG_2755.jpeg
