Axis Stryker

Thank you for the feedback. I would like to see an AXIS striker as well. This has been a popular concept that a lot of people are interested in seeing. While I cannot confirm or deny that we are working on an AXIS Striker we do take user feedback to heart.

My $0.02, make sure the Tanto version of any alleged Axis-Stryker is ground with a stronger tip. I have an old D2 Blade Liner lock Striker from well before the assisted-version, and it's got a very stout, trust-worthy tip, I also have an 154CM auto-Striker made more recently with a needle-sharp, but presumably fragile tip... In a hard-use knife, tip strength is sadly under-rated...

P.S.
I know I'm late to the party on this one, but welcome to BFC... About bloody time! :)

That would be an Ares, seems to be harder to find than the Stryker.

And I don't know why this hasn't occurred to me before but the Ares seems to me to be a Stryker with axis lock and tip-up carry. I haven't compared them side by side but the general shapes are very similar, particular the blade shape. The Stryker is tip-down but the Ares is tip-up. Does Benchmade make any Axis knives that are tip-down?

I would like to have an Ares because I like the styling and the blade, but if it was a choice between Axis or tip-down I would pick tip-down. In fact I'm carrying a 913 Stryker right now and would like to have another one to keep as a spare.

I'm not normally a praying man, but if your up there Superman- tell benchmade to release a spear point. :eek: :D

Keeping this thread updated, as the folder I've been lusting after is finally available to order... today! Thanks for the heads up, Atony. Axis Stryker ordered.
STRYKER!! :thumbup::eek::thumbup:

This new Axis Stryker looks great. However, I'm wondering why the ratio of blade length to closed and overall length is less than past Strykers?
For instance, the discontinued 910 Stryker had a 3.7 inch blade, closed length of 4.68 and overall of 8.25 inches.
This 909 has a 3.57 inch blade, closed length of 4.72 and overall of 8.29 inches. Insignificant difference? Would one even notice the slightly shorter blade?

It arrived today and I am STOKED. :cool:

Blade profile is super low in the handle. Looks sick.

I was concerned the little ramp at the top of the handle would be goofy but, in hand, it locks your thumb in. Very secure grip. I can deal with losing the profile of the original Stryker, as classic as it is. The change serves a purpose.

Blade width up top reminds me of 940 and facilitates good blade weight/action in my example.

First time I've tried this type of clip. Angle of photo is awkward but you can see that it rides deep but maintains a little something out the top of the pocket. No complaints.

My overall impression is very positive. Definite knife-receipt-high, no doubt. The one minor knock I'll give it is the aggressiveness of the G10. For my uses, I don't need such a gnarly grip. That said, it will mellow out over time.

I'm definitely ordering another in coated combo edge config. for work.

Thanks, Benchmade! :thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the pics jazub, I am super pumped for my 909 to arrive on Friday.

Nice write up jazub. Mine is sitting in the mailbox just waiting to be fondled!
