OK, NYOutdoors is getting my Delica, and I'm too lazy to go back and look through all the posts, but does anyone have a little folder to ride in the newly vacated L front pocket of mine? There must be one out there somewhere in this thread. Can be a cheapie, it's a backup anyway. But I feel naked with only one knife on me! PM me if you have anything!

Not making a request but I'm looking for a 3-4 carbon blade whittler. I carve and it would be cool to have enough blades for my work on one knife. If anyone could recommend or has a scoop on one. I've been using my rough rider trapper, my only example of that pattern, but I've been thinking of letting it go once I find a good whittler.

While they are an embarrassment to the state, they aren't my team so I'm not dying inside like many New York folks. LOL.

Yeah, I figured you for the Bills. I'm a displaced Giants fan, so I was looking for someone to commiserate with.

I just claimed a cheaper Kershaw on the last page and not sure if it will work out for me because of the blade steel but if not, I will be more than happy to send it your way! :)

Disclaimer: I am not familiar with Kershaw's and not sure how that 8cr steel will work for EDC as it seems like a cheap steel. I think Kershaw should start using some better grade steel!

They do on their American produced knives. 14c28n, S30V etc.

8cr isn't horrible for a daily beater but you will have to sharpen it more often.

I have heard their 8cr is pretty good, but it just needs to be sharpened more

I didnt know they did "made in China" ones. Oh well, we will see how it works when it arrives! I did want one that can take alittle beating/some what heavy use folder! :)

Stopped by the post office today to send another PIF out.

So, I got this beauty in the mail today. Seems lionesser was being super sneaky and sent it under the radar without my knowledge. She truly has a big heart. Thank you so much....
...Lionesser, anything you're looking for or may need, let me know and I'll try to make it happen. Excluding Busse, Hinderer and such! :p

By the way, you're gonna be surprised at the weight of that package you're getting. :D
Very nice! Way to go, Lionesser.

I've been carrying a Blur for a while now, with that steel, and I have to say I like it quite a bit. I don't mind sharpening often, but what I do mind is steel that can't take a real fine edge. 8c seems to sharpen up great, very very sharp which is what I like. In fact, all the folders I have right now are in that steel. What knife specifically were you referring to?

I believe he is talking about a Cryo

Yeah, it was the Cryo. I am not a knife nut by any means, just always kinda shy'ed away from knives made in China but hey, like I said, I will give it a go and see! It might surprise me! :D

I just got one sent to me from Gung_Ho, and it seems solid, but a little on the short side if you have bigger hands. I'm curious now to try the Cryo II, which was released to take care of this problem. It ads about 0.5" of blade and handle. Would seem ideal for dudes with big paws. My wife has already claimed the Cryo. She saw me fiddling with it, and asked "What's that?" My reply: "Yours". I know how things work in my house.

They don't make a blur in 8cr13mov. Maybe your think 14c28n Sanvik?

Argh. You're right. I've been getting all my steels messed up lately. Too many letters in these steels anymore. So, for the record, I like 14c28n in my Blur.

Well, I dont have small hands but not mits either so I hope it wont be a problem for me! I also hope that steel type is okay. I guess I am just used to handling Spyderco's with VG-10, S30V, etc. :)

In my house, my wife wont carry one but expects me to have a blade, scissors, pen, screwdriver, or whatever on me if we are somewhere and happen to need a tool! LOL

Curiousity is killing me so how is that 8cr steel compare to the 420c or 440c found in alot of blades?
