I'm curious now to try the Cryo II, which was released to take care of this problem. It ads about 0.5" of blade and handle. Would seem ideal for dudes with big paws.

I liked the Cryo 2, and i don't have huge paws. It was just too heavy to me to EDC. Nice knife though

Well, I dont have small hands but not mits either so I hope it wont be a problem for me! I also hope that steel type is okay. I guess I am just used to handling Spyderco's with VG-10, S30V, etc. :)

In my house, my wife wont carry one but expects me to have a blade, scissors, pen, screwdriver, or whatever on me if we are somewhere and happen to need a tool! LOL

Curiousity is killing me so how is that 8cr steel compare to the 420c or 440c found in alot of blades?
I want to say 420HC is the one that dulls quickest. 440C takes a great edge, and holds it a good while. 154cm I believe is an upgraded version of 440C if that helps.

8cr and AUS8 are very close. Both take wicked edges, and will keep them moderately long. I want to say 440C will hold an edge longer, but it is slightly easier to sharpen 8cr and AUS8. In fact I would say I have fun putting an edge back on them because it isn't hard work. Theyre like the 1095 of stainless, which is why many budget hard use knives and outdoors folders use those steels. It's very easy to sharpen them on a rock if need be.

I find 8cr is very similar to aus 8 (assuming they are both well heat treated), but a little less stainless. For me, ease of sharpening is a big plus. I sharpened an aus 8 knife on a piece of ceramic I found in the river I worked on one time.

I meant to say I am not a "steel nut" not a "knife nut". Well, I guess nowadays I am not much of a knife nut anymore. :)

Thanks for the steel info, it does help me understand where it might fall in the lineup of steels! :D

I was a victim of a sneaky member as well, He offered me a bk-7 and I thought it was used, Nope, Brand Spanking new, and the rascal threw 2 smith and wesson knives in the box as well.:D Love em all! (pics are items I received not items offered to the give away) That poor Becker just doesn't know whats coming for it either...

OK, NYOutdoors is getting my Delica, and I'm too lazy to go back and look through all the posts, but does anyone have a little folder to ride in the newly vacated L front pocket of mine? There must be one out there somewhere in this thread. Can be a cheapie, it's a backup anyway. But I feel naked with only one knife on me! PM me if you have anything!

How does a Buck Mini-Buck 425 sound? (black handle, plain edge) it weighs literally 1oz and it makes an awesome watch pocket knife. It is yours if you want it.

I always used to strip down my bush knives. Now I keep that coating on them because I know how brutal I'm going to be with them. When my Junglas finally bites the dust, I will in good conscience be able to send it back to ESEE tried and true.
