I like mine with the locking ring removed and the pin snugged up impossibly nail breaking tight to where you have to give it a good whack to get it open most times.

I feel that it makes a stronger knife as there is no looseness in the build anywhere and the Opinels are very tough

Yeah I was thinking about getting one untill I saw the price was 300 usd.

Haha, I did the opposite with mine. I loosened up the pivot to where it can flip open with a little pinch out of the handle, and altered the lock so it stays tight unless you twist it off. To me it's the best of both worlds. Easy open, an once locked there's no play at all. But I know others might think I'm a fool.

I am offering the Benchmade pictured below, but can't ship it till late next week. It has been carried but never really used. Light and sturdy, just never really found a use for a blade this short with serrations. Haven't really decided on any criteria, so maybe this one should go to someone new or someone who can put it to good use.
