B F Wilderness & Survival Patch order

Oh, no problem. I wasn't upset. I'm just glad I found the source. I'm hoping these com up again and I didn't see the point of starting a new thread when the old one was there. I have been seeing a lot of requests for more info on the WS&S patches so I searched and found this thread.

are there any copyright issues here? if I run out to an embroidery place and got these made using the models would I get in any copyright trouble? what if i sold them?

Um, yeah. Blade Forums is trademarked and is the property of Spark. I'm sure he would take it seriously if you were to produce these without his blessing. (Do a search for the thread where people wanted to make a WSS tee shirt, for example.)

Other than politely asking Spark to put the patches he has up for sale, there is really nothing we can do.

I've done this about three times in the last six months, No avail.

Would it be out of line to make a patch that does not have "BladeForums" or "W&SS" on it? It would still be the W&SS patch, but wouldn't need to have that on there.
 
I'd be interested in a couple.
I would also like the girl in ORIZONDO avatar...can you ship her to the desert???
 
Hellz yeah!! I'd be in for a few as well. If this takes off and a patch order is going to be put together, could it be made into a sticky?? I would hate to miss out.
 
If the original source does not make them anymore, does anyone know of someone who makes embroidered patches? If so, maybe we could start a new thread and perhaps come up with a new design(s), stay with the old, or whatever. I don't know anyone who makes patches but seem to recall seeing some ads in the back of magazines. Ideas, opinions?
 
I don't contest his control of the "Blade Forum" trademark, but I guess I don't quite understand why Spark has an issue with this? I don't imagine anyone was looking to make a profit off the sale of patches, where they? I know that some of the sub-fora regularly do special run "forum knives" which often include engraving identifying them as "BF" or "Blade Forum" knives. Why are patches different? :confused:

In any case, if someone can manage to put this together I'd be up for a couple. :thumbup:
 
Sorry, I didn't know about the copyright. Oh well. New members join and see an item like this, sure does sound inviting. It sounds like the original product did well. I was hoping that there would be some floating around or at least could be made available. C'est la vie.
