Was thinking of Dave's recent score of his mirror finish 110.

OK, I got this about a year ago for $60 including shipping.
It was marketed as "1 of 50...that's means only if one person from each state bought one your's would be the only one in your state yada yada yada" or something like that.

Anyway, it's not a bad knife at all. Wish the rosewood on each side was a better color match, but that's it.

It's an Anvil stamp (2002) but the box is marked 12-04-04.

I'm posting to see if this is just something maybe someone had 50 made of for sale and not a special Buck run. The cert doesn't look legit as if it came from Buck but just something someone could print up...but it's nice.

So, is it really that "unique" and what about the cert?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
Kindest Regards...

Anvil stamp is also used for Custom Shoppe knives...regardless of year...

What's engraved on the blade??? Oh..."41 of 50"...

The polished blade is nice... :)

...I like it a lot gooser...The 41/50 mark is not anything I wouldn't like in one of my knives...It ain't overdone and it sure doesn't take away from the esthetic beauty of that great knife...

I have one too. The guy that had them made is on the list of special orders that BCCI published on their quarterly some time last year. He did exactly that. He had 50 made and had them numbered. I wouldn't think that these were any more valuable than any other custom 110, with perhaps the exception of any that had unique scales.

I think thats a real nice loookin' 110!
Serial # doesnt bother me at all :D
Would look real good sittin' next the the Cabela's Guide Series :D
Nice score if you ask me! Only 49 other people have that one, I wonder how many guys have the cabelas

Yeah El Pollo, I recall that about the Anvil Stamp from this forum. Why they do that, doan know Lucy. Since I also have "Designer's Choice" or something like "Custom".
Yes it is engraved "41 of 50" on the blade.

Mike, what number do you have? I went to your mugshots and couldn't ID it in the line up (to use the vernacular of your trade ;)).

Darryl, about the engraving, I am heading towards that. For awhile I was thinking of getting more etched, engraved, yada. But lately I'm thinking I like the clean look. Guess it depends on each knife. I have, for example, never thought of getting a wildlife series, but I like the 277 LP and FP run etches and the 110/2 Transition I have. The serialized don't bug me if they are numbered the number of the knife in the specific series like this one, "41 of 50" and not that kind that goes "1 of 2003" or something more or less generic.

Never a fan for engraving in the bolsters as I think Dave just wrote about on another thread. In fact, I had ordered my 110DM with engraving "Goose" and "2006" on the bolsters and contacted BCS to strike that out of the order. I'm getting the blade engraved instead...which should be interesting as I have not seen an engraved DM. Hope the suckah doesn't end up delaminating on me.

Thanks also to Orthogonal1 and Jim for the praise on the knife. Really like the mirror finsh and wish it came in other steels ;)
Yeah Jim, I wonder how many 110 Jersey Guides have been made/sold...

If I had the coin, I'd buy up the 35 or so remaining 110DM blanks that are left, slap 'em with some Sambar, FG, NS, and have them serialized on the blade and sell 'em for $200. Figure I'd make about $875 on 'em. What a country.

...Marv I agree with that myself. Was never a fan of that "1" of "50000" thing either...The animal etchings I can live without as well but I have a few 277's myself and I have an LP 277 that I love. I've been looking for an FP for ages it seems with no luck so far. By the time I do finally get one I figure my great-great-great grandson will be the one to tell me that he finally found it for me...LOL...

What a country!!!!!!
Do you think they would only sell for $200.00 though?? I bet more!
No doubt you would give a fellow Buck buddy a deal though :D
Right Buddy :D

I love the polished 110 blades!!! Would be neat if other steel types were polished! Oh well then I would have more knives I needed to buy...

Would engraving on a DM blade be wise? Just curious...
Just the tang stamping on the one I have is almost invisible. I would sure think about engraving one.

Pack Rat:

It's funny you say that about the tang stamp. That is the EXACT reason I wanted to see a picture. I guess great minds think alike.:p

I'll try and get one up tomorrow... That closeup stuff does better in outside light than inside,,,,for me anyway.... Remind me..

Pack Rat:

If you have one with an engraved blade, that would be great. If it's just the tang stamp, don't worry about it. I have plenty of Damascus 110s from the late 80s/early 90s. I do however much appreciate the offer kind sir.;)

Just the tang stamp.... so I wont bother....is good because after I shot those pics of all the stag 110/112,,,well now I don't know where I put the DxxxM one... Probably back in the toy box, but didn't go down there and look.

Goose,
I have two and their both 20 of 50. One with cherry wood and the other with what looks to me like smooth buffalo. Here are the pics. The numbers are on the other side.

Your the customer I would think they would make what ( as many as you) wanted

It would be nice if PCKS added the option of mirror polishing the high end blade steels they offer(S30V, BG-42, etc.). Currently it is only available for 420HC. Just my two cents.:)

I realize this,:D I was referring to the comment about how many Minimum special productions had to be ordered...
