That is getting close to the Baszilla (or Khukrat) I've been hoping for for years.
CBT's are sweet, but there is nothing basic about them and would probably just increase cost.

I really like the wide blade profile as long as it doesn't increase the twisting/torque on the handle when chopping.

We already know 3/16" saber works really well... make it INFI and a little longer for a winner!

We will (yes, we can do it!) probably get something more along the lines of a longer B11.


Or maybe with a saber grind :eek: but following suit with the other basics, probably a full height grind.

I'm not interested in a B13 because of price. I'm looking at performance and comfort. I'm willing to pay more for a Basic type knife if it has special features. In fact that would be a great new Busse category. Premium Res-C blades. A great way to kick that off would be the CBT bolo B-13.

True, and I'm sure they'd be more $, but like I said I want a cheaper chopper with CBT so I can try it out. I'd prefer not having to buy a knife as expensive as an Battle Mistress just for the CBT. They'd be more than a basic basic, but far less than a MOABOLO.

I don't think either of those would be good choices. The Regulator handle is more of a combat style. That would be weird on a big chopper/machete style knife. War Dog handle is much too small for a blade that big. The tang wouldn't even fit in there.
 
I am with the 3/16 or thinner I like the MOABOLO shape so I am ok with it no CBT, BIG finish. That would do it for me.

Agreed, a long blade will need to be skinnier than the typical Busse. The balance will be trickier to adjust on a partial tang knife like a Basic, compared to a typical full tang blade, where the designer might have more options.

But, no, those handles won't work on a full size chopper, it needs to have some drop for maximum efficiency.
 
The 1311 is nearly perfect, no need to get clever with recurves and CBT.

Just drop the saber grind and make it full height with slight convex, keep it thin, and MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I think B-15 is the magic number.

We could just call it "The Bomber" because things actually would explode any time it flies through the air.
(Of course this would just be a warm-up for the B-17 Flying Fortress and B-29 Superfortress.)
