Ken, I started the fire with my little bsa hotspark.. that I where around my neck... I used the fluf from mikweed pods I collected from the parking lot as flash tinder..and shredded birch bark I picked up on the trail in to extend it to the next stage...
 
Theo The one thing I will say is that its seems allot of folks that use the sights Just leave tons of garbage there... I carted 2 giant bags of garbage out with me that was filled with stuff left by other folks..however I did find an axe head and a small usgi canten stove.. so one mans trash is another mans treasure I suppose. ..While I did a thorough Job I couldnlt get it all so if you wouldnlt mind bringing up an extra garbage bag.. for the losers... I'd be obliged.

Yep, it's pretty annoying. I'm sure you've seen the rock overhang close to the water that is basically an ad hoc garbage dump for bottles and cans :mad: That area is a great spot but that road just makes it too easy to get to with cases of beer :grumpy: Real men, of course, park in the "Pen" and hike over the mountain :D
