Back from Hawk Mountain, Pa.

Looked like a good trip, any heat reflector for the fire or was it more for a bit of bush tv then for heat.

I also noticed the big knife on the left, so that's a RTAK with a slight regrind and new handle slabs is it?

We had a large rock as a heat reflector. It definately kept the shelter warm but we didn't keep the fire going all nite.
The RTAK is a custom Newt Livesay. I reprofiled the edge to convex. It didn't cut very well when I got it.
Pitdog, these get togethers are alot of fun.

Great thread, and awesome pics Scott. I dont know how I missed this thread!!

Glad you had a good time, and were able to step back from the grinder for a bit.

Thanks J. I've been in a slump lately. Tough getting motivated in the shop. I've got work to do but it has slowed a bit. Getting out was great. Wish I could do it more often.

Its always nice to be able to step back and take a breather every once in awhile bro.

Kinda center yourself a bit.

Everyone should make this kind of time. I know you love grindin, and making knives, but you dont want to make it to where its not fun anymore ya know?

Looks like a great trip. It was 6 degrees here last night according to the bank thermometer and up there it would have been colder. Mac

Scott,That looked like a great getaway,I know for me nothing destresses me quicker than spending time in the woods. How did your WTK do,can't wait to use mine.

pict, we were thinking that while we were there. If we sayed Thurs. nite, a stack of firewood for feeding thoughout the nite would have been a necessity.
tracker, the WTK I have is 154CM. I was working curls and strips off of some very seasoned sassafras wood. The edge held up great and bit in just as good as the two scandi grind knives that were there.
