I'm back in the office today. Seems like it was a busy week while I was away.

I have updated the warranty page on our web site so now you have to contact us and give us a tracking number for any warranty replacements /repair. All of this thanks to one jackass.

Also updated the February contest winner on the web site.

I will also be emailing all of our dealers and distributors and letting them know that we can no longer predict any delivery dates due to all the back orders we currently have. The best we can tell anyone at this point is it may be as much as 90 days on some shipments. While I was away we had dealers asking a million questions and one dealer was just flat rude because he thought that we jumped other dealers in front of him on shipments.

Anyway, we will get to the orders in the order we received them. We apologize for any delays but it's just the way it is.

Appreciate yall buying and using our knives.

Jeff

Welcome back Jeff.

Now how bout pm ing me how to sign up on your forum for the E&E list. I am on the current list but need to make the forum change.

As I said in my last email concerning the E&E forum, we will send an email out when we make the change to the forum. Having spent the last week in Peru, I just don't have time right now to do anything but catch up on more pressing work.

Welcome back Jeff! Glad to hear you made in back one piece and we didn't have to start a ransom collection:p Hope to see some pics...

Will try to get some pics up soon. Again, I'm running way behind right now trying to catch up on some other projects that Peru put me behind on.

If there is anything that needs my attention on the forums, please bring it back to the top or start a new thread. I do apologize for not being able to spend as much time as I would like to here. We do appreciate each and every one of you though. As I have said before, there is just not a better group of "customers" in the market. And when I say customer that means family to us. Thanks.

I wish more companies had the same work ethics and service that Rat does...I just can't believe how awesome you guys are, keep up the great work!

Jeff dealers ask questions because their customer ask questions. I try to keep all of my customer posted with the latest information. I take my customer and my business very seriously, without my customers I'm out of business.

I thought about replying to this email all evening. I make it a point to think things over before I move on them.

For you to post this comment in a public forum is very unprofessional, the dealers are your customers too. Perhaps one of the dealers got a little heated because he placed 3 consecutive orders 01-06-09, 01-07-09, and 01-08-09; and to this date not one knife has hit his shop. Perhaps his customer are reading about other customers receiving and using their RC-5's, and they are wondering why they have not received their knives yet? These are the customers that ordered their knives on 01-06-09, just a few minutes after the dealer started taking pre-orders. If you definition of rude is getting upset after multiple email did not bring a conclusive answer, then I must be the rude dealer that you are referring to.

In the future you may consider holding the knives and shipping them all at once. If you want to be fair about it, this would give all of your (customers) dealers the same opportunity to buy sell and use the knife.

Free enterprise is a beautiful thing as long as everyone is free to practice.

I have watched this business for years. I have observed "unprofessional" activities in it for a very long time. I have watched professional knife makers and dealers and people who have their knives made by other people - slagging off on their competition, sandbagging them, spreading rumors, you name it. While "outing" someone may or may not be "unprofessional" as circumstances permit in a case like this, Jeff never "outed" anyone.

You make a statement that something Jeff did was "unprofessional" and then you go and sign your name to it. I got cranked off last week because of something someone said, another guy told me, "If it doesn't apply, let it fly." I will tell you what is "unprofessional," being a wonderful guy in public and rude in private. People think they have a license to do that sometimes and hide the fact they are not easy to deal with outside of public view. Not that this is you, I'm just sayin' :)

Damn, dude, I never called any names. Why would you just assume that it is you?

Again, Tom, we ship knives in the order we received the orders, and will continue to do so. I'm sorry that you didn't get all your knives as quickly as you wanted them. I also apologize that other dealers had their orders in before you. You are correct, sir, dealers are in fact customers. But just because you are a dealer does not mean you can dictate how we run our business. We have always been fair and will continue to be fair. Free Enterprise means that we can run our business as we see fit and you can choose to either do business or not do business with us. It does not mean (and never has meant) that you may have a lease on dictating the way we run our business. You were treated fairly as was the other dealer that you assume to know so much about. Shon Rowen ships the knives and he can vouch for that.

I guess its because of the email that you sent to me from Peru. With out discussing the email on the forums, you know what was said; If that statement wasn't about Chestnut Ridge then there must have been more that one dealer with that same tone.

But that was not made public, Tom. You made this public. How do you know that we didn't have problems with another dealer/distributor?

We still love you, Tom. Don't take things so personal that are said on the forums unless they happen to name you directly. ;) You're a good shop and we have defended your shop on these very forums on more than one occasion.
