Well allthough I am happy to be back with my family, I do miss being out there with the great guys at the Wilderness Learning Center. It is amazing how much you can learn in 1 week with propper instruction. I feel confident in my abilities with many aspects of the outdoors that I didn't even no about.

I finally got that coal with the bow drill after a few failed attempts in the spring, but here after seing Kevin do it and getting the personal instruction and motivation from Kevin, and the others I got it on my first attempt. We made cordage, fishing spears, traps, firebowls, gluesticks, shelters, just to name a few. We learned about so many useful plants and trees. I finally got propper instruction on how to use a map and compass.
There is just too many things to list. From building kits to use of the items in them, everything was taught and explained. We learned in the classroom, and when everyone understood we practiced in the field. This course was extremely well planned and excecuted with perfection. Even the nasty weather couldn't stop us. A couple of other great things about this course; the instructors are with you 24/7 they don't go home. So after dinner and even though the days lessons are technically over; you can ask questions and get help with anything you may need while sitting around the campfire.
The other thing is the food. I have heard of some nasty food getting served atr other schools, but at the W.L.C you get a home cooked meal every day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Aggie is an excellent cook, and extremely knowledgeable of the outdoors as well. Nothing beats the last dinner when you get Aggie's home made apple pie for desert!

If your thinking about taking a course like this, don't hesitate in booking this one.

Now here are some pics.

Where I will spend my nights. We got some nasty rain at night and I stayed bone dry. I don't think I will ever go back to a tent.

Marty, Kevin, Bob, and Aggie I look forward to seeing you at war, and let me know when you have your courses scheduled for next year.

Thanks for a great experience I'll never forget

Dang that looks like a blast. I wann try and make one early next year.

Great pics brotha, glad you had a blast, and a safe trip.

Those fire blowin pics are sweet. I also like the plant ones. I am in need of some plant work. :o

What blades did you bring? Opinions?

welcome back brotha... awesome pics... it definately looks like a great time...:D

nice neck knife set up you're sporting...:o

I took alot of knives with me. All worked great!
I took my Koyote combo, and the chopper cami in handy whith the shelters. I even batonned through some extremely hard maple about 10" in diameter, which other's thicker knives couldn't get through.

Here is DP blade that Doug sent to me. Kevin beat the crap out of it all week. I think he will do a review of it.

You saw my Gossman PSKjr around my neck and I made a figure 4 with it. Great lil knife

My Fiddleback got a beating it will never forget. It was on my hip 4 of the 7 days. I never needed to sharpen it. I was extremely impressed with it as well as my Koster Bushy.

Nice. I cant wait for my bushcrafter jr. Those gossmans rule. Looks like a great time, I look forward to that dp review.

BTW, is that a Hennessy Hammock? Im thinking about getting one of those. Do you use some kinda pad with that, or just lay in the hammock?

Thats a mosquito Hammock Jungle Hammock. I used a sleeping bag inside it.

Kevin had a Hennessy, he used a sleeping pad as it was single walled and the mosquitos bite through.
