Back Yard Survival!

I'm with you - sorta. The #$@*& pollen is so thick here in C.A. that my allergies and asthma have my mucus flowing so thick it's like constantly 'eatting oysters' - and washing them down with the alkie from night-time flu juice. I had just bragged about missing the flu, too. My survival in the woods will be at the shooting range today... "I love the smell of Titegroup in the morning!". I play with round guns, so I won't be picking up loogie-laden brass - apologies to those who do. I'll bring a knife... (The appropriate tie-in...).

I'm right there with you. I hate taking sudafed but I just had to last night.

Schlitz? WTF? PABST-BLUE-RIBBON!

A finer Pilsner has never been brewed.

However, I never really caught on to my Dad's preferred brew, I'm a Michelob sort of guy. I loved Stroh's but I think they stopped making it, I have not seen any for ten years around here. Beck's Dark with German Food, Corona or XX with Mexican Food. I'm happy with that. I want to try room-temperature Guiness one day.

Oysters and Clams, never caught on to them either, except bearded clams. :D

Shrimp and/or Crawdad E'Touffee, steamed and not hideously "boiled," Maryland Blue Crabs packed with just the most wholesome, homicidal goodness that only Murderland can provide - good stuff!

Looks like a fun time Horn Dog, but I'm with the rest......Schlitz???

Sure it has, in the form of the original pilsner....Pilsner Urquell. THE finest beer in the world.

Actually it's not consumed at room temp, even though that's what most people think. The proper way is at cellar temp, approx 52 degrees F.

Beautiful yard bro!!
Not sure who I feel worse for though, those poor oysters(eat those puppies raw!) or your poor stomach!! They must have some Sam Adams up your way(spring ale man, spring ale)Heck even some Yuengling would be better than Shlitz. Either way looks like your havin it good.

Yeah, I must admit my stomach took a beating this weekend. As for Sam Adams, I like almost all of them except the wheat beers. Schlitz is a very good standard American lager, but nobody would compare it to Sam Adams Boston Lager. Schlitz tastes better than Bud or PBR to me, more hop character. Cheaper than Bud, too. It is the kind of beer I drink when I am going to drink a lot, sort of a maintenance beer. It is not in the same price range as Sam Adams.

And that Alexander Keith's that I can't get on this side of the river! :grumpy:

Yes...I admit... I'm a beer snob :o

If you drink Keith's you are not a beer snob!

We drink Steamworks up here to be snobby...Keith's is like Budweiser to us!

I'm sure it is but its one of those that I can't get so I enjoy it when I can. My standard is Molson Ice as its available everywhere. When I'm being snobish, its Bells Two Hearted Ale out of K'zoo, MI. or their Oberon in the summer.

Haven't had Steamworks yet. I'll be sure to try some next time I'm in your neighborhood.

Thanks for settin' me straight on the Keiths :D .

Chris

Lol no problem...If you ever are in this neighbourhood I will take you To Steamworks and Granville Island and Yaletown and you can get the 7x 1/2 pint sampler of everything they brew.. .my treat!
