Backpacking Sequoia NP (pic heavy)

Thanks guys! It really was an excellent time, I love being anywhere in the Sierras.

First night we stayed at Pear Lake, then hiked back to Emerald and stayed there the second night. Didn't make it to Moose Lake though, it felt a lot further than I remember.

Total terrain covered was about 13 miles or so.

No Backcountry fires. Fires are only allowed at lower elevation established camp grounds.

Grunt and sasha, I'll email you guys the directions. It's roughly a four hour drive from LA.

Here's a couple more.

The General Sherman, all the tourists stick to this area but it's really an amazing tree

Hey T was the Mad dog fixed to your hip in plain view or tucked away....how did folks react upon seeing the FB...

I'm not trying to step on tknife's toes here, but I've carried my Swamp Rat SBR in a drop leg sheath in souther california and not gotten any guff about it.

I carried it in the side pocket of my shorts. We only passed a few people, but out camping I don't think anyone would care about it too much. It's fully legal anyway.

Man, that scenery was gorgeous bro.

Thanks I was just wondering about Ca. I never had any issues in TX just wondering...o'course I always check before entering any parks/Camping hiking area's etc.

No firearms, no motorized vehicles on the trails etc. I like the National Forests better because they have less rules. But the parks have some of the best natural wonders.

Sasha, tknife, lambertiana or anybody else in around here, if you guys want to set up a short group trip up to the Sierra I'd love to go. I think it would be lots of fun..

I was thinking of trying to meet up with you Ray, but we were short on time. It would be fun to do a group meet up there sometime though.

The MD is a sweet knife, I really like the grip on it. For fun I was prying apart wood, carving, digging in the snow and for food prep.

Great pictures, looks like some great scenery and fun. I will be hiking Mount Whitney at the end of July, so I will get to experience the sierras again.
