backpacking

Sounds like a great trip. Maybe I missed it, but what books are you bringing?

I dont know what lady you are talking about but im no lady...^L*
The books im going to take with me is the #6 in the series of the sword of truth.. and the 6,000 must have words for the everyday dictionary... Hey its always good to improve on the vocabulary..

Sasha= a guys name in Russia

Sasha= a guys name in Russia

Sorry sasha, no offense. That's an easy mistake for many Americans to make when there are no pics involved. No clues in your bio either. Here's what I get from wikipedia:

"This form is especially common in Russia and surrounding countries. Although in Eastern Europe this name is predominantly given to male children, elsewhere it is given predominantly to females. In Germany, for example, the civil registry offices only allow the inscription of Sascha for boys in the birth certificates. Conversely, in the United States the name is almost exclusively used for girls, at number 369 in the ranking of U.S. baby names, although it didn't gain popularity until the 1970s."

Again, sorry, and have a great trip.

Sasha,
I think that area requires regulation bear canisters. I don't know exactly what is and isn't allowed but the rangers will check you. I got checked twice last time I backpacked out of Horseshoe Meadows. I have an old Garcia cannister and it's good. I'm not sure if they allow hanging food over trees so you may want to find out. Have fun and take lots of pics for us. Someday we should get a BF group to go up there together!

Hollyshit i were planing on hanging my food as always... Did they stop you on the trail and checked you??? Or when you got the permit???? It would be a cool thing to do getting BF guys togher for a few days backpacking... I bet there would be some stories to tell after lol ....

Don't forget me. And on that subject, I have some space available on my permit for an eight day loop I will be taking from North Lake to South Lake, August 9-16. In at North Lake, over Piute Pass, down to meet the JMT and up Evolution Valley/Evolution Basin, over Muir Pass, down LeConte Canyon, up to Dusy Basin and over Bishop Pass to exit at South Lake. I will have one layover day in Dusy Basin to summit Agassiz (13,893', beautiful class 2 summit). Anyone interested? Total mileage will be about 65.

Sasha - Keep up the good reading. I'm still waiting for the last book of the series (Confessor) to come out in paperback.

Too bad you don't live near me, and won't be going by my place on the way. I have a couple bear canisters, you could always use mine.
