Jan. 13: I ordered a K5 tomahawk without sheath from Eddie Killian. I immediately received a “welcome to K5” email and another email confirming my order.

Jan. 23: Eddie charged my credit card $172.06.

Feb. 5: I sent an email to Eddie: “Howdy: I ordered a K5 hawk on Jan. 13 (order 331) and haven’t heard anything since. Could I get a quick update. Thanks.”

Feb. 18: Eddie replies, saying he sent the hawk out Jan. 23. There was no shipping notice from Eddie or UPS and Eddie offered no tracking number.

Feb. 18: I replied by email: “Thanks for the reply, Eddie. I have not received the K5. I'm not sure how you sent it, but it seems like it should have been here by now if it went out on the 23 of last month. Is there anything that can be done?”

Eddie did not reply.

Feb. 21: I sent Eddie an email: “Still no hawk, Eddie: I went to your website and saw you sent it by UPS. I did not receive a shipping notice either from you or UPS. Were you able to get a tracking number? My credit card was charged. Are you able to get any help from UPS, or have I just lost a hawk?”

Eddie did not reply.

Feb. 22: I called Eddie and left a polite phone message.

Eddie did not reply.

Feb. 23: I checked out BF’s GB&U and saw that there have been multiple complaints against Eddie, as well as posters defending Eddie. Eddie has posted a lot of excuses.

Feb. 26: Eddie has still not replied to me or delivered the promised hawk.

At this point I would file a dispute with my CC company. K5 will receive a charge back, and it's their burden to prove that a item was sent, and delivered.

At least thats what I have found with a transaction about a year ago. My CC company (Federal Express) was very easy to deal with on the matter.

I've dealt with Eddie and he seems like a nice guy, I doubt he out to screw you.

But given the non reply, I'd just dispute the charges. It seem like you have done way more then reasonable to resolve the matter.

Thanks for the tips. I'll contact UPS and then file a complaint with my credit card company.

Mostly, I wanted to warn people here about potential problems when ordering from K5. And it gave me a little chance to vent, which I needed.

I'm sure you already thought of this, but it is a lesson to us all. If what happened on Feb 23 had happened on Jan 12, what happened on Jan 13 might not have happened at all.

This is a good reminder to all of us to

1) Check feedback first if we are dealing with someone we have not traded with before, and

2) Leave feedback (GBU and Itrader) so your fellow traders can benefit from your experiences.

Hope things work out for you.

That's right, Matt. I should have checked GB&U first, but I had an impression that Eddie at K5 was a straight-up business person. I didn't think I needed to check. I was wrong. And that is why I posted here.

I called UPS today. They can't track a package without a tracking number, which every package, if shipped, has.

There was no attempt to deliver a package at my address.

Eddie will not give me a tracking number.

Even if you had a tracking number, you wouldn't be able to file a claim with UPS. You're not the shipper.

It's obvious "Eddie" wants to play. Call your credit card company and request a chargeback. He'll then have to "play" with the credit card company. They don't "play." :D

What a dissappointment...one of the best hawks around when they first came out. Reminds me of Jensen Knives...they were also groundbreaking.
