Bad Experience With Knifeworks

I've made many purchases from Knifeworks in the last few months, and had nothing but the best in service.

Thanks
Tom

I sent it back at my own expense, which was no problem, but Knifeworks kept my original shipping fee when they issued the refund.

There policy did say they wouldn't pay return shipping on a defected item....but it did not say they wouldn't give you full credit for the knife, and what they charged to ship knife to you.

Did they really not refund the full cost you paid them even though the knife was defective?
If so, that was not right at all!

I think it is going above and beyond to pay the cost of shipping. The brick and mortar shops don't give you a $10 gas coupon when you return the item to them. Same thing with the on-line dealers. As others have said, people go to the on-line retailers to get the best price. The postage is always one of those costs associated with the overall package.

It's the original shipping fee they charged him to send the deffective knife that they didn't credit his CC for.
He is not complaining about the cost to send it back.

A dealer that sends you "defective" merch that can not be replaced should refund your original shipping cost and the return cost also or he should send you a "call tag" for the return. If he is replacing the defective item he should pay for the cost of the return.

Contacting the dealer for a return authorization gives the dealer the opportunity to arrange with you the method of return and determine if it is worth returning the item at all. Same thing goes when a dealer sends the wrong item.

Just to clarify, for those who are asking. I paid around $120 for the item, plus $7.95 or so for shipping. When I returned it, I paid another $7.95 or so to return it. When the credit was issued, it was for $120. My total out of pocket was $15.90 for shipping both ways.

In my previous online buying experience, a seller eats the original shipping cost if an item is defective and the buyer eats the return shipping cost. Not both.
