BAD- jaxurman

Threatening your family is grounds for banning here. But he was banned for this whole episode anyway. I am sorry you went through this.

If you pay a blackmailer once they will always have in mind to come back for more. Don't send him a dime.

Thank you all for your support, reading my epic long winded explanation/story, the supportive emails and PM's.

This is/was my first transaction with any buyer or seller, and as a fairly new newbie...the guidance and advice has been invaluable to me. And as it was happening, I started this post FOR you all's guidance and advice.
(Unfortunately-The bad news is -I got soooo sick of his contact and the ramping up of his belligerent texts/emails from him, that I sent him his (insert curse word here) "go-away" money.)

So this post is to thank you all...and to warn others researching him..)

Thanks for reading...and all the help.

Frank,

Do not allow yourself to be bullied. This is what has happened here, you were the voctim of extortion and the bully won. If anyone ever, threatened to do harm to my family that changes the rules of the game completely.

I know man, and on principle I DO agree with you, sir.

But after so much of his belligerent ranting and raving and threatening to interrupt my posts, and to talk trash about me (i feel i have worked 'hard' to build the little presence and small list of people who HAVE been happy to deal with me-it begins to seem like a..pittance to preserve that ahort list of history and feedback.) AND it just gets so ..tiresome.

I mean, it's like trying to return something to a store where their return department manager is a jerk.--if he rails and rants long enough, at some point -i would give up, walk away and simply "eat" or forego the return/refund JUST to not have tonlisten to the jerk, anymore.

And it just really began to wear on my patience.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on principle , but ..it also begins to be just a pain in the bottom.

And after trying so hard to treat others as I would like to be treated, ..that "go-away" money versus the "math" of a bad feedback rating (when I only have a handful of transactions-so thus: a bad rating has more of an immediate impact.) just seemed like I might be doing my rating more harm than good by trying to stand on principle. --if I had say, a hundred transactions rather than 10, I wouldn't have felt it would have impacted my rating nearly as much.

And then when I started to share this story with the Missus (who has even LESS exposure or understanding of this whole process), it then became just a.. "man, lets just End this silliness type of thing."

I really DO appreciate the input and guidance, though, I truly do.. because as a newbie, I have little to no experience to draw from-and thus it flummoxed me as to what I SHOULD do/have done.

(And in a weak attempt at sarcastic humor-I feel confident in saying: " I think I am justified if rate HIM with a negative."-lol-)

I should have done more research, sir.(Headslap)
Hopefully this thread will warn off anyone else that may deal with him.

Thanks again,
Frank

And if I try to be positive about it..I guess I should concentrate on the fact that I HAVE made some great friends (some of which i text or email with daily) and contacts here, and NOT concentrate on the one bad ....

Having just joined only a few months ago..that spectrum has amazed me...

There are a couple people who I truly look forward TO that daily contact. And have really begun to count them as close friends. And when I joined, I never would have thought that...but it's true.

And then the other end of the spectrum: when I joined I NEVER thought a pocketknife transaction could conjure up soooo much ...bullcrap.

Your experience is NOT the norm here, Cf. Don't let this experience jade your impressions of the Exchange here. Most folks know and follow the rules of engagement, and realize that it is reputation-based much like auction sites.

This hobby's supposed to be fun, so enjoy!

Prof.

I would never suggest tampering with the mail system, but money is very dirty! Ya know, it's one of the nastiest things we touch on a daily basis. It'd be terrible for Mr. Alvarez to contact diptheria from the monies you sent him...:D

Yes, you would, in fact you did suggest it Don't. It is not a funny joke and can lead to the wrong people getting involved.

Professor-you are right on all counts, sir.--and I am and WILL try to do just that.
And DO feel that it was abnormal and a rare minority, NOT the majority.--
But -I agree completely.

Bowman-thank you for your attempt at humor, sir.---sometimes all we can do is laugh..I appreciate you trying to lighten the mood with your sarcasm.-- thanks.

Esav Benjamin-- sir, i know I have never really got to interact with you on a personal basis..BUT- every post I have read of yours in threads..well, I have YET to see you steer anyone wrong or to ill-advise someone, sir.-and I appreciate that.
There is also a member here who so happens to be a dealer for a well known authorized dealership named after a type of ..lets say,..um..blade profile., and he is very much like you. And by that I mean, that he cares greatly for this community-and it shows.-- he treats and speaks to people well, and I have YET to see him steer anyone wrong.--in fact, his words and caring for this little community of ours motivated me to "friend" him. And I had never interacted with him personally, prior to that., but --but at one point, I wrote him and commended him on this and "friended" him.--I am equally impressed with the care, guidance, and very nurturing & caring time and perspective that you bring.-so thank you for that.--

And thank you ALL for your input & advice.

That is one seriously messed up episode. FWIW I have had nothing but great interactions with the members on BF, all real stand up guys/gals. Hope this was your last bad experience of the sort.

Please don't pay him and yes please contact the authorities. I am sure his threats were empty, but by contacting the authorities it shows you won't take that kind of abuse and perhaps he will see the light when officials get involved. Enjoy the knife and your time on the forum.

I read through this quickly so perhaps I missed something but why did you send him money ? You just rewarded an obvious bad guy for very poor behaviour, I don't get it at all.
